After memorable bottles in the past this one didn't impress. A well crafted Douro, red berries, caramel, tobacco, violet and herbs, but lacking extraction and depth. Not sure time will sort.

Full bodied, intense. Oak, toast, vanilla on the nose. On the palate bright intense red fruit and blackberries, oak, earth, tar. Lots of tannins in the acid finish. This improved greatly with 2-3h of air time. Pumped down overnight, more tart on day 2. 91/92
