Agree w previous note. Dark colour. Ripe fruit and minerality on the nose. Didn’t personally get the barnyard but the terroir goes up the nose during a medium length finish. One of the best vineyard experiences of all these wines of the early mid 2000’s.

Sad to see this go. It was a gorgeous chardonnay that reminded me of white burgundy much more than California chard. Mineral and some america oak, but not buttery. Almonds, pineapple, flint. It complimented a smoked pork tenderloin very well and managed to blend with a fresh bruschetta. Still great color, this didn't look or taste old.

This wine has aged better than most of the 2006 kistlers and his still holding up well. Lovely flavors of tangerines, white peaches, flowers and butterscotch. Showing lots of complexity now and still retaining decent medium bodied structure.

Blind Tasting mainly Californian Reds: Very interesting flight, drank blind, only two whites, one of them from me , but I couldn't say which one was mine.
In the beginning very difficult to recognize which grape variety, very nice fruity and tertiary aromas. With time and air you "find" the Chardonnay, but its origine it was difficult. Later very fine nuts and almonds, great acidity, alcohol well integrated. It is very elegant. This wine it is at his beginning. Now 94-95 would be nice to drink it again in 5 years. I prefer it against the Mev Kirsten from Sadie Family (93-94). Many people saw them equally.

Medium yellow color. Aromas of limes, pears, honeysuckle and minerals. Ripe but beautifully balanced and structured fruit in the mouth. Very intense and lond on the palate. This 9 year old Chard was very fresh and delicious with the outstanding seafood at Little Fish Restaurant.

Very typical Kistler Chard. Huge. Lots of mineral, wet stone, tropical fruits with a very substantial acid backbone. Lots of grapefruit on the palate, very much like a sauv blanc. Very unexpected.

Ripe orchard fruit aromas with some tropical and new oak hints. Ripe apple as well on palate, also slightly tropical. Modest acidity makes this a bit one dimensional, but still very easy to enjoy. Slightly better and slightly more balanced than another bottle from about a year ago.

Stone Flat is the most awesome Kistler bottling, and the 2006 vintage did not disappoint. Yellow, and viciosu in texture this baby is still fat, and laden with citrus fruit across the spectrum- lemon zest to tangerine. Long, comple finish with floral notes and hazelnut.

Excellent cali chard, like a somewhat more alcoholic version of a grand cru white burg. Dark yellow-gold with greenish hues. Amazing nutty and buttery nose with stone fruit, pears and hints of dried apricots. Mineral and coffee roast scents are also present. A wine of exceptional complexity. Full-bodied, creamy-textured with obvious alcohol, generous and ripe fruit and balancing acidity. Endless aftertaste. At a very good stage to enjoy now, but can be cellared for many more years.

Very nice in its style. Lush, ripe tropical fruit complemented by lots of new oak, plus some white summer flowers in the background. Big, powerful, long fruit comes through on the palate like a sledgehammer. Not much acidity for texture or energy, so I'd suggest drinking this up in the next few years while the style is easy to enjoy and the alcohol is less prominent. I can't quite imagine anybody mistaking this for Grand Cru Burgundy - that's a head scratcher.

Big, high oak chardonnay. Very rich tasting, spicy with tons of flavor, but for my palate very little subtlety. Burgundian Chardonnay???. . .I don't think so, this is a polar opposite of what I like in White Burgs. Long finish, drink this with rich food.

Gigantic Chard. Deep golden color. Nose of hazelnut jumps out of the glass followed by tropical fruits. Palate was smooth, rich and round. Beautiful mouthfeel. Great balance between acidity and miverality with moderately dense pear, pineapple, and peach flavors. Drinking very well now, but has the structure to be able last a while.

Golden colour. Nutty expressive oaky wine that got better and better in the glass. Complex with balanced palate, neither heavy nor light with balanced acidity and long aftertaste. Very nice Burgundian Chardonnay, no mineral notes as expected though.

I'm with jeff Novak on this one. Disapointingly oaky and sort of flabby. On the otherhand this followed a btl of bubbly which may have made it seem extra oaky and less focused? I had been looking forward to my last of this since earlier vintages were great and hope others find it more enjoyable.

Absolutely wonderful Chardonnay with minerality, citrus and stone fruits throughout. Floral notes also emerge with a little time. This is a great wine, slightly viscous and full bodied. Great now and should hold well for several more years.

Beautiful nose of citrus, stone and floral. Deep gold color. Big flavors of tangerine, stone, citrus. Tartness like lemon, and just enough to balance the fruit. A happy wine. Full bodied, crisp and rich. (Doris 90, heavy nose, strong citrus, really likes this wine).

Light straw with a hint of green color. Wonder fresh nose of citrus and minerals. This follows through on the palate with restrained but complex flavors of minerals, lemon and melon. Nice long finish.

not performing to the level of the 05. a bit oaky and even yeasty on the finish, with a less than well delineated midpalate, which i associate with insufficient acid. hardly a clunker, but just doesn't come together at a high enough level given the pedigree and price.

Wow. I almost forget what is so special about Kistler wines. This was almost perfect in every way. Wonderful nose but the initial flavors of tropical fruit, citrus and stone are so crisp and fresh. The flavors just seen to unfold and fill the mouth. The weight and mouth feel are just perfect as well. I've been drinking them older but this bottle has me wanting to try these wines younger.

Wow. Powerful California fruit combined with Burgundian complexity. Too much fruit and alcohol to be a Burgundy, but too much sophistication and finish to be a California Chardonnay. Usually Kistler Chardonnays need to be consumed in the first 2-4 years, then they start to age rapidly. I think this wine might last 10-15 years -- it has enough acid and tannins. I hope I have the discipline to save a bottle until 2019.
