Wow. Our favorite wine/restaurant owner pulled this out for us. "If you don't like it, I'll drink it." Made before Trefethen was Trefethen. What a find. Still has excellent color. Complex, deep blend. Let it breathe for an hour. A very fine experience. Once open, drink it; will go "old" by the end of the evening. Some bottles may be corked, so be careful. But, if everything is in order, you're in for a wonderful wine.

A very impressive wine, it still has a medium/dark purple color. I am not sure if this wine has lost any color yet, if it has it is just very minimal. This wine was decanted for 10 hours, and over that time, it just kept gaining more complexity in the aromas and tastes. This wine is a medium bodied wine with 14.1% alcohol. It gives off aromas of euclyptus, mint, black cherries, black berries, plums, cedar, spices and chocolate. It tastes of red berries, black berries, black cherry, spices, plums and chocolate. After about 12 hours, slight hints of floral aromas started to break through. Keep in mind, this wine was stored in the perfect storage climate. There is A LOT going on in this wine. It is also a syrupy wine as well. As good as this wine is, it still needs more time to settle down. This wine needs at minimum 5 more years in the cellar, and it should have no problems being a wine that will go 30+ years from vintage date. I have 5 more 750's, and 1 magnum. It will be a lot of fun to see how this wine ages!!

sweetish nose and almost flowery....medium light bodied, short finish, not too tannish on the finish, but a bit muddled for me. Did not change or improve much over time, lost some of the roundness and fruit. Nice but not remarkable, not at all in light of the price

Intense and showy nose of blackberry, perfume and sweet oak. Flavors track the aromas and like the nose, everything is on the front end. I'd hoped for something a little more classicly styled, but this was too sweet and oaky for my tastes.

From a magnum. Probably at peak, but still plenty of life.

Dark and complex. Decanted for an hour savoring two glasses. Silky tannins. Better the second night. Excellent.

Better after decanting for an hour. Medium body, intense, great dark color, no tannins. Perfect drinking now.

The only problem with this wine is that it was my last. Wonderful nose, medium bodied, silky, and well balanced.
