  • This bottle has been stored impeccably. This is drinking like a 20 year old left bank super second Bordeaux, not a 20 year old Cabernet Sauvignon from Walla Walla. Medium body, light and lighting acidity, balanced alcohol, cassis, pencil shavings, raspberry, hints of stewed strawberries, and 30 second finish make this an absolute delight. Most of my oldest bottles of Garrison Creek have been delicious and arguably some of the best aged wines i have consumed. This is no exception. This is why you properly store and age wine. Wow!

  • Drank as part of 01-04 GC vertical. Excellent again perhaps my second favorite of the evening. Consistent with last tasting notes but perhaps drinking a little better than the 01. Very approachable on its own.

  • Dinner at Kathy & Jim's. Drinking beautifully now. Drank next to 01, a little richer on the mid palate than the 01. Still youthful with lovely notes of black cherry, cassis, black pepper and cedar. I preferred the 01' this time by a narrow margin.

  • Very nice and drinkable. Nice cassis aromas, some complexity. Typical Washington cab style, a bit lean and austere and a bit tannic, but went well with our meal. Should hold well for several more years but not sure it will improve much.

  • 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot. 30 months new French oak, 6 months neutral French oak barrels. Bottle: 14 months before release. Milbrandt, Alder Ridge and Conner Lee vineyards

Dark, rusty fruit, leather & definite garrigue notes. Crushed rock and an earthy mid-point. Some bright lift on the hind palate with a non-stop finish. Ready to drink now, this has the potential to go on for several years. However, acidity and overall balance are somewhat evasive. Therefore, it is difficult to determine life expectancy of this wine. Definitely preferred this to the '01 which was too dark and woody for my palate. I prefer the hint of fruit forward demarcation of this wine.

It's very different style than any other PNW winery is doing with the 'old world approach' to lengthy barreling and bottle time. Unusual wine, unusual place. I've had better at this price point ($55 @ the winery), but this is still a solid wine.

  • Outstanding! Perhaps a little more extracted black fruit than the 01 with exceptional balance and structure. Similar to 01 on the palate with slightly less acidity. My favorite at the 3 year vertical dinner.
