  • Bordeaux 2022 en Primeur and some recent vintages: Lighter and more elegant like the 2018 next to it. Excellent balance, darker than the Pichon Lalande but also great. It will be exciting from 2037 to drink the two Pichons side-by-side. 96-97pt

  • With a solid depth of color, the wine jumps from the glass with its show display of licorice, black fruits, lead pencil, currants, lavender, cocoa, and spice in the aromatics. The show-stopping palate is rich, intense, long, concentrated, spicy, and most importantly, concentrated and pure. While your palate bathes in the wine, the sensation is all about its freshness, purity and length. The first vintage produced with the efforts of the estates new Technical Director, Pierre Montegut is a resounding success. This is clearly one of the best vintages in the history of Pichon Baron! The wine blends 81% Cabernet Sauvignon and 19% Merlot. 14.3% ABV, 3.63 pH. The harvest took place September 8 - October 3. Yields were 34 hectoliters per hectare. 48% of the harvest went into the Grand Vin. Drink from 2028-2065. 97-99 Pts.

  • The vintage of the century!!!! Yes I know we have already told you this several times but this time it is the real truthful truth! Who are we kidding again? It was very hot but it was very cold, it was very dry but it rained a lot, the grapes are very ripe but with acidity...
    And Darwin said that man and mammoth sperm were adapting to climate change, why not grapes? Primeur wines are all more beautiful than each other, it's true! But that is not enough to make an exceptional vintage. One dimension is missing, the lifespan of the wine. And frankly, let's be honest, who can foresee today, that such a climatically contrasting vintage will not be syrup or vinegar in 20 or 30 years when the 2016, 2018,19,20 will begin their peak?

  • 99 vvPunkte / 150 Tsd. Flaschen Grand Vin wurden produziert. Subtile Röstnoten vereinen sich mit Kirschen, schwarzer Johannisbeere, Pfeffer, Veilchen, Tabak, Kräuter und einem deutlich mineralischen Touch, das hat viel Tiefe, viel Noblesse, baut mit Luft aus, ist aromatisch super komplex. Im Gaumen straff, kein Gramm Fett, 100% Kraft, sensationelle Gerbstoffqualität, seidig umgarnen die Tannine die knackige Frucht, der Wein zeigt Spannung, Dichte, Strutkur und viel Eleganz - ausgezeichnete Qualität und ein fast endloses Finale. Das wird ein Kopf an Kopf rennen zwischen den beiden Longueville-Gütern, doch ich denke, dieses Jahr hat Pichon Baron die Nase vorn. Die Zukunft wird's zeigen.   • En Primeur campaign for the 2022 vintage Day Four (Bordeaux): Ooh, a little immediate minty waft, plenty of cream black hued fruits especially currants, sweet oaky spices. Medium plus intensity acidity, fresh dark hued fruit slide seamlessly into drying grape and wood tannins that are quite chalky textured, the fruit persists,. There is a tiny of red fruit sourness on the finish. It's slight out of balance at the moment but complex. Good.
