Gorgeous, mature petite sirah. Full nose of mature black fruit, earth tones, asphalt and some american oak spice. Palate is full bodied with concentrated black fruit. But quite mature and restrained, with good supporting structure, though tannins are quite fine and close to resolved. At 20 years old, this is holding strong. Drink now or over the next couple of years.

Slightly muddy plum red color; limited medium sediment at end of bottle. Aromas of plum, nutmeg, olive, fennel, and meat. Palate is round and lush with fig, plum, sweet olive, and roast meat elements that carry into a medium-long finish. The casual wine drinkers I served this to were astounded it was 16 years old and loved it. Fully mature and no hurry to enjoy this; expect it will continue to be of interest for a long time as it ages into full tertiary flavor profile. Drink or hold.

Body is dark garnet, with a brilliant red tint at the edges. Dominant notes of ripe blackberries and cherries, vanilla, and old wood. Hint of pepper. This wine is presenting nicely. Jammy fruit with still some chewy tannins left in this. Nice complexity, a little pepper in the finish. I am very impressed with how well this has stood the test of time.

Aromas of freshly turned earth, band-aid, plummy fruit, violets and a musty oakiness. Earthy blackcurrant, coffee, game and a strong floral edge on the palate. Slightly bitter, earthy tannin on the finish. This is a moderately dirty wine with, I suspect, a touch of TCA.

DOA. Might have been lightly corked. But palate was stripped of fruit and completely flat.

Surprisingly long and pleasant taste when drunk by itself, and the strength (alcohol) would come through only when consumed with a good steak.

Musty nose. Not corked but... Probably past it's prime. We will see tomorrow.

corked, but showing lots of steak tartar amidst reticent berry flavors. No score.

A vegetal and fragrant nose.
Fruity with plenty of tannin, will age well.
