Decanted over one hour.Little shy on the nose showing some dark fruit and oaky notes.Drinking still nicely; smooth dark fruit with vibrant tannins and oak on the palate. Not too complex or developed, but was overall rather smooth, balanced and pleasant. The oak and tannic dusty grip seemed to increase with more airtime.

A great back of the cellar find at a local wine shop. A very nice wine to elevate a great steak to the next level - softened tannins but a great complex finish..after it opened up - might have been a bit cold to start...gotta get a bigger wine frig.
a great cork to pop to continue a celebration!

Decanted. Initially rounded mouthfeel on the attack but sharp finish with a lot of acidity and tannins and some stewed notes. Softened quite quickly and gave way to soft fruits within the hour. Smokiness developed with bacon, basil and mint and a faint hint raisin on the finish. Wasn't that keen on this at the start as it was a little too sharp but really grew on me as it opened up. Not sure it's terribly good value in the UK though.

Very good wine. Enjoyed two bottles last night, both decanted a short time, with Kim and good friends at a pharmaceutical company dinner at the Gamekeeper restaurant outside of Blowing Rock NC. Dark red color, very smooth, very well balanced, good mouth feel although slightly thinner then expected with pleasant lingering palate. Very pleasant and somewhat muted nose, more fruity then floral with red cherry, cedar and some vanilla present. Primary flavors initially included dark cherry, cedar, plum and light cassis with some vanilla and with subsequent development of more earthy tones. Very good wine, good QPR based on average retail value but overall lighter and more muted then the '99 which we really like and this is consistent with the '00 vintage. Drinking very well right now but probably does have a couple more years of cellaring potential left.

Lunch with the Saturday Group. I brought this as a backuop, and decided to open it at the end ...because it was there. Great discipline! Not a great vintage so I didn't expect too much. But I did think the second wine of Dominus might show a little better. One of the guys initially thought this might be an Aussie, saying it was over the top. I think it was just big but nearing age 7, I don't think it'll necessarily get any better. Oh well, it was only bottle I had in cellar and I've been curious about it for a while

I found this wine overly green and disjointed. Drank over 2 days with the 2nd day worse than the 1st. Bell pepper, lean black cherry, intrusive tannins. The green notes predominated.

Had this wine with Greek food. Very drinkable right out of the bottle. Well balanced with bright fruits of cherry and plum. For the price this is a terrific wine. I will add a few more bottles to my collection.

Very nice! Lots of cherry, cinnamon and cloves. Light styled (due to the vintage), this is wonderful drinking now and absolutely outclasses numerous more expensive wines which are also made with current consumption in mind. Puts most 2nd Growth BDX from the (comprable) 1997 vintage to shame. A high end "vin de plaisir".

Currant, tar and bread dough nose with a bit of earth and mineral. Full and assertive; very good fruit and acid balance with spicy flavours and ripe tannins; long finish. 4.5/5

Holding up well after so much time in the bottle. I detect a large presence of Cab Franc which is well married to the cedar and spice.

Still showing lots of plum, cherry and cedar notes. Thick, juicy and plenty of fruit concentration.
