Not a lot coming off in the way of aroma even on night two. Juicy palate with surprisingly robust tannin. The tannins are actually a touch green and deep. Straightforward classic Cab Franc flavors. Feels like it was probably pretty ripe with that juicy, bit thin in the middle quality. Other than that it's doing really well. The tannin is clearly going to outlast the fruit on this one so I would drink it with something fatty sooner rather than later. Good stuff and consistent over two nights.

Harmonious on the palate with deep blueberry notes. Lots of structure on the back end. Starting on the earth tobacco thing instead of violets. Was hoping for more of the violet thing. Just opened, Nate notes its coming around.
Nate notes a stemmy, slightly struggling with ripeness juniper note in the mid palate.

I like this wine....i confess I'm on a bit of a loire cab franc kick, and am no expert... The wine is well structured, rich, pretty clean, not much green... a little hard-edged (it's on Coravin, so may get some development). It may be too young, i'd hope the fruit would get past a slight wall of tannin... but a very satisfying, fairly priced wine....

On first tasting I found this wine a little too intense and spicy, but after decanting it for about an hour it mellowed nicely and still got a slight peppery/spicy taste and vibrant sherry and black current nose. Paired well with the lamb I had and goat cheese I had.

At think point I think some would say this was a little herbal and green, but I really liked it. Tarry, spicy, peppery. Dare I say even a little zesty?

The wine is a beautiful coffee-violet color, medium density in its appearance. It definitely has the flowery earthy mushroom aromas along with a striking undercurrent of cherry and vanilla bean- a beautifully expressive nose. It's nice and rich on the palate with fruit notes of cherry, fig, and touches of blue fruit. Also with cedary, mushroom, and earthy notes that glide through the palate with a nice presence. There's also a smooth and velvety feel that belies some sneakily gripping tannins. Moderate length on the finish with some red fruit notes and hints of mint. Very nice.

Had this over at the Stanley's house with pizza dinner. Popped and poured - from memory - nice aromas of red and black berries, minerals, earth and a lovely green pepper note. A bit of funk on the nose as well but in a good. Palate follows with just that lovely green streak running through the middle. Good finish. Great balance. Last bottle and wish I had more.

Popped in the fridge for ~45 min. Nice aromas of blackberries, ripe cherries, earth, mild green pepper and vegetal flavors and barely perceptible funk (very different from last time). Bright blackberry and cherry flavors, earth, mild sweet pepper and vegetal flavors, and minerals. Really nice moderately long finish with berries and earth. Much smoother than last time. Bottle also has a lot more sediment.

Some serious Franc funk upon opening. Green veggies, almost fecal at first. This blows off after 90 minutes, leaving a wine of impressive structure, with pleasing viscosity and lengthy finish. Good dark fruits and some oak. Some pepper and rocks ('roches'), and vanilla. Very bold for a Chinon.

Fairly ripe fruit on the nose. Fairly gutsy tannins right now but also big ripe Chinon fruit. The importer feels that the 2006 has more austere tannins than the importer.

Popped and poured at Lupa wine bar. Nose shows light brussles sprouts, chalk, and sour cranberry. In the mouth, shows nice bright dark fruits and is very drying and gritty. That dryness shows itself even more so on the finish, with huge tannins, dark fruit, and chalk powder. Great structure for a wine in this price point. Very good, and a nice bargain.

Deep purple in the glass, this Cabernet Franc has ruby red edges. Intense red fruit and earthy, oaky characters on the nose. The palate shows lively berry fruit, liquorice and creamy vanilla.

08/02/08: Garnet in color. Aromas of barnyard funk fairly prominent which eventually toned down but never gone. Earthy. Tart cherries. Grassy. Mushrooms. Bell peppers. Palate: Ripe cherry and blackberries. Earthy - almost forest floor. Mushrooms. Red Pepper. Medium/Full bodied. Juicy and bright texture with good acid. Moderately lengthy finish. 08/03/08 - Very closed nose: hints of black fruits, earth. Slight barnyard/manure funk present. Palate: Tart cherry, earth, mushrooms with a fairly persistent tart cherry finish.

Great spice with flecks of greeness. Suprisingly open and generious. Very drinkable and forward. Nice grip and clean and the end. Shows a touch of smoke. Very pretty. Probably the most generous wine I have had from Joguet. Popcorn!

Good, medium-weight Cab Franc. Red fruits are in balance with expected green tones playing support throughout. Nice grip; good wine.

Still super young and brooding, even with a couple hours of air seemed to not give up much. All kinds of life left.

A bit of wild funkiness but far gutsier than normal. Bigger, chunkier, heavy. Big fruit tannins, not that mineral or rose petally.

Vibrant purple and extremely bright on the palate. Needed time in the decanter to settle down and round out but very good with food.
