  • A little Brett influence on the nose, adding sauvage interest to tart cherry and cranberry. High acid, zero tannins. The palate is straightforward, crisp red fruit and short herbal finish. Again this vintage, a very nice table wine in line with my taste, but the cost creeping up makes it less relatively attractive.

  • Pnp. Bright ruby-crimson in colour. Nose of jammy red cherries, ripe raspberries, and some rubbing alcohol. On the palate, tarty red berry fruits with a bit of spice to them. Medium bodied with a medium finish.

  • Restaurant purchase, so PnP. Medium garnet in color, this wine is reminiscent of Beaujolais Nouveau. The nose has red cherries and cranberries, the palate is fruit forward and tending a bit less than dry. The acid struggles to balance with the fruit, and the tannins are similarly muted. ABV 12.5%

It paired well with a NZ venison with cranberry-cognac gastrique accompanied by puréed parsnips.
