I was hoping bottle #1 was offspec, but this bottle was the same, if not slightly more off. Cork was intact, but a little soft. Color was somewhat transparent with less bricking than expected for a 19 yr old bottle. Very few tannins, fruit was lighter than bottle 1. More acidic than expected with a tangerine after taste, almost like a young Rioja. Had high hopes, but they were dashed. 89 is probably more than deserved. Day 2: worse than expected almost all licorice on nose and palate.....rerating to 85. Awful

Tannins completely subsided....popped and poured. Plum and blackberry on the nose and fruit menagerie on the palate. Medium finish. Cranberry/prune stood out on the finish after 30 min. Good not great...hope bottle #2 is better.

Well made wine with great balance. One of the best examples of Napa cab I've had from the second half of the 90's that was built to last more than five years.

Stole a small taste prior to decanting.... amazing aroma, perfumed, exotic blend of raspberry and fresh cherries in the nose. A whiff of alcohol, still quite young looking with just a hint of brick. The taste is phenomenal and it evolved nicely over 1 hour as the wine opened up. After about an hour the flavors were full of cherry and strawberies dominating and secondary flavors of cedar and a hint of toast, tobacco leaf, and olives. I was wowed by how wonderfully this wine has evolved. 2 more bottles remain and I will drink them over the next 12 months.

STG does California Cabernet (Seattle): served blind nose: minty, eucalyptus notes, but still plummy fruit. The palate tasted like a textbook cab, but it did have a lingering soy sauce note that made me mark it as the oldest example in the flight. Well done - definitely pleasurable tonight.

Showed beautifully. Nice hints of cigar box and green pepper. Tannins were well integrated and smooth. Held up wonderfully to a well marbled rib-eye off the grill

Yeasty nose. Medium bodied, nearing full, but looks like a bruiser. Okay.
