  • On opening this was a little fresh and tannic but the tannins soon softened to yield sweet black cherry infused with a little spice. As it developed still further, I detected prunes before ending on sweet chocolate. Not as heavy as Port, I really enjoyed the lightness of touch and the persistent finish. CHP 89 pts

  • As always a reliable dessert wine showing plenty of body, cherry tinged fruit, gentle sweetness offset by fine acidity and minerality leading to a finish with firm backbone. However I think, without side by side comparison, that the fruit here may be softer and even more gracious than some of its predecessors. Excellent with Stilton and chocolate. Very good.
