Old school style with dark fruit, oak spice, herbs and earth. On the palate, it was resolved and giving, which resembled the sensation on the nose. It was well integrated. A classic Burgundy. 91-92

wine drank so beautifully. perfect balance, with really silky tannins that danced over your tongue with wonderful freshness and light beer flavors. very long finish, and extreme delight with veal capelatti and grilled berkshire pork chop.

Opened and re-corked 20 hours prior to serving, then decanted approximately 1 hour. Shows notes of spearmint, concentrated red cherry/raspberry, baking spice, saddle leather, and browned butter. The depth and concentration are fantastic. Firm tannin and strong acidity show how young this is but there is so much depth and flavor behind that it almost doesn't matter. I suspect this will be even better in 10 or more years.

Decanted. Still quite primary as expected, but very nice spice and cherry aromas. Cherry and spice with nice mouthfeel. Oak, although prominent, did not detract and should integrate with time in the bottle. This should develop into a very nice wine with time.

Opened up beautifully after decanting. Fragrant nose of rich pinot fruit, cherry, spice and fall wood shavings evole in a balanced pleasing wine. The finish and lingering nose goes from cherry to dark raspberry, spicy cinnamon and cracked pepper laced with sweet forest smoke. I was so impressed that I bought two cases at best price, $16 less than cellar tracker average price. I can drink this powerful very pleasureable wine now and for fifteen years. Hard to find a Grand Cru this good for less than $100. No brainer for the Burgundy flavors that I embrace.

nose slightly deeper than the Combes aux Moines, with a bit of earth. Palate is full, deep now, but not as pretty as the Combes aux Moines right now. Tannic. Needs lots of time. Tough to rate right now, but the material is apparent here.

Continues to impress. Will benefit from a one hour decant.
