Our last, sadly. Still beautiful and still deserves the 94 we gave it three years ago. Very drinkable. Maybe at peak, and plenty of life left in this one. No flaws or sediment. No rim variation. Full of fruit aroma. No tannin. Medium alcohol and medium finish. Wonderful

This is only the second charbono I have had (the other being shypoke). Ripe blue and black fruits with fine, integrated tannins, lots of acidity and a little bit of toffee and tomato flavors in the finish. This was a fun, different wine.

Probably was better 2 years ago as this seems to have lost its zip. Its not done by any means but I think I just like my Zin younger. A bit of raison and prune on the nosedecent cherry mid palate followed with some tartness and tannin on the finish. Fine for the $10 I paid but not worth anywhere near full tariff any longer.
I opened a bottle of this for my 8/9/08 Charbono tasting. It had aromas of blueberry, raspberry, pepper and some other spice on the nose. On the palate it had very spicy flavors of blueberry and raspberry. It was dry, but not very tannic at all.

Spicy and tart charbono fruit with some oak influence. Definitely has an Italian vibe with plenty of acidity.

This wine is beyond reproach. Absolutely unparalleld. Will not bore you with tasting notes. If you have not tasted this wine, you have not lived.

Five Most Common and Least Common Grape Varieties (Farpointe Cellar): The nose had a dirty spice aroma and a mixture of black cherry and black raspberry. The palate had an interesting black raspberry and weeds taste, and finished with cherry and spice.

Rich nose, great purple color and zippy acidity make this a nice change of pace for a different varietal.
