What disparity on these reviews! I loved it. My favorite Produttori Barbaresco so far. Mature color and beautiful nose. Smelled like olives leaves, sausage with fennel and tulips. Worked so well with mozzarella and tomatoes. Worked just as well with some Pecorino Romano, but not with olives. Nothing showy but such class. This is the first time I feel like I understood a Produttori Barbaresco.

Mature pale cherry red. Subtle nose of rose, strawberry and licorice. Little left on the palate. Not flawed, but fruit is gone. Hint of rose and strawberry. Past its prime. Drink up.

Decanted for two hours and I wished I had decided earlier for this wine...... It kept on opening up and the last glass now three hours after that is just fantastic. Intens aromas of rosebed in july with crushed cherries and strawberry. And positively speaking wet muld and earth it self. On a tight line balancing perfectly between acid and fruit and with and interesting feeling of shiny steel at the inner core. a marvelous wine. And if it continue for some more years, it might end up even more stunning later on.

Nice nose of rose, rasberry and tar. Light cherry in color. On the palate, started out nice with cherry, earth and a hint of gasoline. After 2 hours last glass became tannic and bitter.

In the glass, light red fading to orange at the rim. On the nose, raspberry and strawberry with a bit of heat. On the palate, light and slightly acidic, with a nice core of strawberry and a smooth finish. I would agree that decanting for a few hours would have been advisable.

Nice Barbaresco with hints of strawberry with a nice spice and a nice finish. Decanted for 4 hours and probably could have used more as it was continuing to improve over the three hours of consumption. I will be looking for more.

Elegant Barbaresco, brimming with bright red fruit, ginger and mace, and a hint of tar. Light-bodied, but balanced, with bright acidity and smooth tannins. Expansive finish. Great food wine.

Another cooked ‘97 with burnt sugar notes. Can’t tell if this was bad storage or rough year.

Youtfull, sappy, minerals, mature sour cherries, medium bodied, some fruit sweetness, plenty of tannins. Hold 5+ years for next.

Still very good.. More mature notes than last bottle, but well structured, perfect balance, tight and lovely.

tasted in a mini vertical with the 1990-this will get there-had same characteristics as the 90, but the 90 is just singing right now

I wasn't too impressed with this. Day 2 was much better but overall it was average. I wouldn't purchase again.
