Visits in the Wachau and Kamptal; 10/4/2023-10/5/2023 (In and around the Wachau and Kamptal, Lower Austria): This shows off a nuanced and mineral-driven side as it fills the glass with stone fruits, crushed rocks, mineral notes, flint, peaches, pears, green apples, spring florals, and some white fruits. There is excellent depth that plays into the nuance of the nose with a bit of understatement to the tones. The Medium bodied feel is deft and balanced with crisp, high acidity. This is really lovely and a wine that I really would like to have spent time with as opposed to in a tasting flight like this. That said, I'm very glad I had the chance to drink this as its very enjoyable and more of a pristine Gruner than one that favors the herbal aspects.
