Very nice again. Not quite as good as the last two bottles - lacks concentration comparatively. Excellent balance, with notes of bright red fruit (cherry and raspberry) and oak.

Absolutely gorgeous and better than two years ago. Verve, with beautiful clarity and color. Notes of raspberry, blackberry, oak and tobacco. No sediment, funk or barnyard notes, with a medium, long finish.

Brutally cold night in Denver for early March. Gorgeous Pommard Rugiens, with great color, clarity and superb balance. Notes of blackberry, tobacco and earth floor, with a medium long finish.

Bt breathed an hour, clear ruby with restrained nose of floral. Explosive in mouth not of intensity but of the plethora of aroma, rose petal, spice and red fruit. Med acidity, tannin beginning to soften, but the floral aroma just lingers on and on. Lovely and excellent value for money.

Beautiful ruby color and wonderful nose. On the palate, still very fresh, with lots of fruit, but the tannins are still a bit harsh. This wine seems like it still needs a fair amount of time before it will realize its full potential.

youthful purity on the palate. You get that soft texture that Gaunoux does so well. Still young as the fruit is still a bit primary but very delightful drink.

Morrell Wines Cote de Beaune The Reds (Morrell Wines, NYC): Opaque red with a modest amber tinge. A little bit of thinning at the rim, but this still looks quite youthful. Beautiful nose leaping from the glass. Deep perfumed cassis with raspberry and baking spices. On the palate it's heavily fruity with big structure. Wow, this is still a baby and tastes like it was just released. For me this was the WOTN, but it needs a few more years to come into better balance.

Had as part of a tasting menu Blue Hill at Stone Barns. This was paired with a farm-fresh egg that was breaded, and flash-fried that was like a scotch egg. This was on a bed of couscous and mushrooms. This wine despite being more than 10 years old, and open for more than an hour was still tight as if it was 2-3 years old. Not sure that more time in the open would have helped, and not sure what cellering will do. This had slight hints of barnyard gaminess to eat that actually worked well with the earthy flavors of the meal. On its own, it was not a favorite. I am more of a fan of US Pinots, and this was a bit more austere than I was looking for. The fruit was more muted than I would have like. Did have a good strong mouth feel, and was not thin like some other Pommards I have had from same vintage. Enjoyed with the meal, but would not be purchasing on its own.

It took s ehile to open up. What started out sd s very light and unassuming burgundy turned into a solid and comples bottle. I paired it with a lamb stew and was very pleased. Not amazed but pleased...

Well structured but rather unyielding of pleasure. Just lacking the body to really deliver. Needs a good hour decant.
