  • Mogen i en mycket bra fas, total harmoni mellan alla delar. Jordig, köttig, earl grey, mer smultron än jordgubbar, fernissa. Känns som att det kommer från ett varmare klimat men årgången spelar säkert in.

  • Drank over 2 nights.
    Dark purple red.
Night 1: a very strong earthy, damp forest floor animale character, musky deer horn, blood, furniture polish, pastille and some faint background coffe, mocha, chocolate notes.
Night 2: completely transformed with vibrant and intense violets, raspberries, dried flowers, bitter orange and tea.
Exceptional wine which still has a long way to go.

  • Mid garnet to the mahogany rim.
Classic bouquet of dried plums, forest fruits and raspberry. As the wine opens, the aromas become more expressive with lots of plums accented by wild chanterelles mushroom, mushroom risotto perhaps, worn leather, dried spice, wet granite stone, and dried strawberry.
Lively acidity on entry with freshness and vibrancy, yet intermingled with those savoury tertiary elements. The texture is velvety, finely boned in structure, medium to light bodied with powdery light tannins. It has a juiciness to the mid-palate and plenty of complexity, and there is a suppleness on the mid-palate that works with grippy, sinewy elements of the Morey-saint-Denis terroir. The fruit goes more towards black fruit with black cherry, plum, and raspberry, typical stewed fruit of the warmer 2006 vintage. It finishes long with sandalwood elements.
Overall, a good quality wine with a wonderful concentration of flavour, complex nuances and long velvety finish; there is a masculine feel to the wine with that grip of M-S-D. Subtle in its power, a well-aged Burgundy that is drinking now and still for a few more years.

  • Just a lovely pure burgundy. Think Fourrier meets Mugnier. Red fruits with a top note of white pepper - very fresh and very crisp. Lovely palate - just so light on its feet. Already the beginnings of a peacocks finish as the old viney fruit expands on the palate . No more than mid weight but with lovely drive and freshness. Longish palate to finish. Just lovely - everyhting i want in a burg.
