Deep translucent violet red in the glass. Lots of cherries and garden dirt on the nose. In the mouth: saturated cherry and blackberry fruit, tobacco, meat, copper. Sweet, high-toned tannins and medium acidity. The flavor profile is interesting enough, but the big steroidal fruit up front overwhelms a lightish mouthfeel and short finish for the style, leaving things feeling just a bit off-balance. Still, a nice steak wine.

15 year old Samgiovesse blend. Lovely. Great color still. Drinks so smooth with zero edges. Some fruit mostly likely long gone. Still excellent.

Drinkable, but past it's prime. Not sure how good it was to begin with.

Fantastic wine, great nose, soft tannins, lots of structure remaining. still could go many more years.

Good, perhaps a little faded but fine and easy to drink. Pair with milder flavored food.
