  • Medium garnet red, dark for a pinot. Aromas of leather, plum, and a blend of cherry, strawberry and raspberry. Also had hints of vanilla and carmel. Flavors of plum, strawberry, smoke and leather. Acids and tannins were present and at this time not in harmony. I expect since this wine is still young, there may be time for these two to play nice with each other. Medium finish. For the price, a pleasant, no expectation wine.

  • Cloudy red with ruby highlights. Creamy strawberry with a touch of white pepper on the nose. Raspberries and spicy bing cherries, muted acid, woody tannins and a lingering finish. Pretty good, about right for the price.

  • Aromas of cherry and mushrooms. Flavors of ripe cherry, raspberry with enough oak to give it a little spiciness. Medium length finish and for the price was very good. In the year since it was first reviewed I'm sure the oak has toned down quite a bit, adding a nice complexity and bit of tannin to the otherwise smooth finish. I think I'll have another glass.

  • Great QPR. I didn't find it over-oaked, and I'm not an oak fan.

  • Great QPR! Cherry, Strawberry, burnt toast aroma. Very long finish for this price point. Somewhere around 86-88, but for $16 pinot I'm not sure it can be topped.

  • Popped and poured at the end of a long night with may other bottles opened and consumed. From what I remember, this wine has a nice core of red fruits, with prominent notes of cherry & raspberry. However, to me the experience was somewhat marred by the use of obviously well-toasted oak. Although adding some spice to the fruit, IMHO the smokey flavors from this type of oak do not accompany Pinot fruit in the same, usually more positive way it's use can heighten Cabernet, Syrah, Zinfandel, or even a Merlot. Those who enjoy toasty oak flavors on their Pinot Noir may love this one.
