Definitely past prime but still quite drinkable, with a fruity taste that lingered pleasantly on the tongue. The major problem with this was its nose, with a bit too earthy smell. A younger fume blanc would probably be better for any occasion. (Incidentally, I am partial to sauvingnon blanc, especially Mondavi's fume blanc.)

Nose : somewhat tight even after a couple of hours in the decanter. White flowers, white grapefruit and green leaves. Palate : Filling, somewhat buttery for a sauvignon blanc but really good. The acidity is a bit lacking but overall really good wine!

M&D: Wow! intense Grassy nose, tarragon, more int. and sharper mth than Jadis; Subtle (or not so sublte) oak, but well placed; pique at end: grt w/chicken & hominy soup.

Solid performance. Good goto bottle for less than $30 when you have guests that are not big into wine but you still want something almost as good as the seafood you serve.

This is very solid. Denser and more complex than the average Sauvignon or Fume Blanc. Rich citrus, pineapple, dried apricot and a good amount of sweet brown sugar. Good weight on the palate and a very nice finish.

K&L Charity Event. Smoky pitted fruit on the nose, more of the same on the palate, too much smoke and wood for me, interesting flavors, unique, medium body, and long finish.

I found this to be surprisingly good. Surprising because I really had no idea what to expect beyond recognition of the vineyard. A touch of grassiness, with a med-full body of subdued tropical fruits. Very well-balanced, and definitely worth the $38 restaurant charge. Went perfectly with (over-peppered) sea scallops at El Gaucho Tacoma.

Fascinated by the To kalon, which is pronounced TOW kalon, accent on To, pronounded Tow. It is a Greek phrase, which according to Mondavi means (or meant) either "highest good" or "highest beauty." This wine has a very fresh , crisp, dry pineapple taste. A wine to drink now with those qualities still strong.

Nice, and smoother than your average SB. Perfect for the person who wants a little buttery feel to their SB - but this has crisp tart fruit in there too, so it's still recognizable as sauv blanc. Maybe it's the 10% semillon.

Light in color with soft spoken aromas. A pretty gal. Medium nectar with bright acidity yet ready to drink. Flavors of lemon peel and tangerine, green stone fruit and granny smith apples with a touch of white pepper. The finish lingers a bit. I catch an interesting glimpse of angle food cake in there somewhere. A very dry style. Not as good as that 02 though.

Nice light yellow color. Buttery and citrus nose with a hint of nettle leaves. Balanced chardonnay with note of oak barrel and fruit with pear.

Not my favorite vintage of this, a little too fleshy.

"Wines for the Holiday Table" Tasting (Fine's Cellar, Scottsdale): Pear, melon and lime. Rich with good mouth feel. Not heat despite its 15+% alcohol. Nice surprise.
