So young and tight. Lots of tannins and acidity. The fruit is bright and there is some peppery spice, but this isn't as complex as I'd like. Needs more time to live up to its potential.

Classic N Rhone profile, with the concentration and structure to age medium term. It was good last night with about an hour of air. Lots of pepper. A little smoked meat. Touch of vanilla, not very noticeable. Good value in these days of $30+ bottles of St Joseph.
edit to add: the wine is much better the next day, more open with quite a bit more dark berry, brambly fruit, and not as much tense structure. Decant or keep in the cellar for now.

Banging good. A nose I could smell for hours, and well did. Wonderful pepper on the finish, really a great bottle of wine. I'm excited to buy a couple more of these.

Deep garnet color leads to a nose of lilac, menthol, and cedar. Medium/full body contains flavors of blackberry, smoked meat, anise and a touch of menthol. Well integrated finish lasts 20 seconds. Great value at $20.

Really enjoyed this, classic syrah flavor of smoked meat, pepper, black olive and blackberry fruit. Good density and definition from the acid backbone. I think this is from some young vine Cote Rotie and from some fruit outside the appellation, and this is a decent bargain, one I would buy again. 13%, $20 full retail from Kermit.

Spicy smoky and deep for what it is. Very enjoyable, and clearly syrah from the N Rhone.
