Yes this was amazing...nice black fruit with a constant undercurrent of cassis and licorice. Thought I would have to decant based on other petite sirah that I have had - but this hit the ground running right out of the get go. Very nice - a real treat.

One of my treasured special bottles. Elegant, sophisticated, smooth, masterful blend of dark berry and smoke and earth and a hint of juniper. A vintage I wish I'd invested way more in. Superb.

Thanksgiving 2013; 11/26/2013-11/30/2013 (Colorado): Medium dark magenta color, long legs. Nose was fresh and clean, crushed dark fruits, hints of leather and smoke, subtle trace of grapeseed, almost like this is a Cab blend. Palate is dark and jammy but not hot, woody herbs, even tannins. Lasting and complete, really balanced. You would not know this was Petite Sirah without the label, tastes like Napa Cab blend. Excellent winemaking, drinking nicely now.

Gave 3 hours in the decanter. Dark red in the glass. Nose of concentrated red berries, earthiness, and fatty smoked meats. Palate is thick with chewy black note herbal jam and tarry strong tannin. Very rich in the mouth. Strong throughout. Finish lingers with some heat, but still satisfying.

Still a solid bottle of PS--big and powerful. Lots of fruit and the bottle has held together nicely despite not being stored properly over the last year (whoops). Takes a little while to open up (still probably about an hour), but has held up nicely for a few days after being vacuum-sealed in the interim. Great purchase.

excellent Petite Sirah. Almost black in color, with solid tannins, very big on the palate. Will try again in a year as I suspect this wine will age nicely for the next 3-5 years. Pairs nicely with beef

Drank with grilled burgers on the deck; rich, dark fruit with that characteristic PS rustic edge; drinkable now with a rich mouthfeel and big, but silky tannins; yes, it's a beast, but a gentle one... this has opened my mind to more PS's... after a few bad ones, this one reminded me why it has a small, but loyal fan base!

Very nice bottle for the price, what a good PS should be. Big wine, lots of fruit and some definite tannins on the finish. Rounded into form after about an hour and smoothed out. I vacuum sealed the bottle for three days and it held up nicely but was beginning to get a little harsh on the third day.

Very dark ruby/purple color. Intense pepper and spice nose, chocolate, coffee and cherries in the middle that linger on the palate. Finish is a bit acidic and not as smooth for me as others described. Still a very good PS for the price. Needs a lot of time to open up. Better the second day.

Dark garnet to purple color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of Kirsch, white pepper, black cherries and scorched earth. Flavors of Bing cherries, berries, plums and bitters on the medium finish. Medium acidity, firm tannins, medium to full bodied. Drink now with a decent amount of air or continue to hold.

Barbeque Wines (Farpointe Cellar): The nose had blackberry, blueberry, earth, mushroom, and a little bit of violets at the end. The palate was very smooth, and had blueberry, blackberry, truffles, and a nice floral finish.

Decanted for 1 hour. Huge dark fruit on the nose and taste. Wonderful tannins as well. Easy, smooth transition to the finish. Really good wine for the money.

Nice notes of blackberry and dark cherry once the wine opened up after a couple of hours. The tannins were firm but the finish was smooth. Nice PS at a nice price.

Ahh how well they do it. 87% petite, 13% "old world field blend". THis is a hell of a wine for $25 or so. The "blend" is because they have a block of stuff left over from Italian farmers and they just go for it can co-ferment the stuff.

Much better than the '05. Very extracted, blueberry-blackberry when oxygenated, black cherry when opened. Elegant, soft, but overflowing tannins. Paired wonderfully with flank steak. Recommended.

Really nice bottle of juice. Not heavy or flabby at all, precise and medium weight in the mouth, nice aromas of earth/meat amongst the ample fruit.
