Perfect wine for a light pasta meal with fresh whole grain bread. Light in color with a decent nose. The finish is quick with no lasting notes top brag about. Bright red fruits appear up front. I have enjoyed a couple bottles of this, and will continue to drink.

Light red in color, surprisingly so for a grenache. Tastes just like it smells: strawberries and light, bouncy raspberries dominate. Has a bit of an herbal finish, but there is really no complexity happening here. Could have easily confused this with a cheap Cali pinot noir. Great for a party where no one much cares to think about the wine - due to its crowd-pleasing taste, nice price, and the sure-thing-converation-piece that invariably occurs when a bottle sporting a bright pink label with the word "bitch" on it is presented with appetizers...

Grenache blind tasting. The lowest scorer of the bunhc (unanimous). Lighter in color than all the others by a lo0t. nose- ?cranberry. Mouth - strawberry, but clearly candified. A fruit punch simulator.

This wine is obviously not for everyone but it comes across as a very honest wine. It tastes like someone fermented some Grenache and bottled it straight away. It's a little sweet with lots of candied strawberry and red cherries. There's not much complexity, but there is some licorice and spice in there too. It's a little thin with a short finish. Okay value. Would buy more.

This isnt the best wine I have ever had.... But then again what would expect for 8.99. But, it does have a nice mello flavor, a bit of strawberries and ? such a light flavor, not bad, just light. I really like it, especially at 8.99 it makes a very good everyday drinker. So girls, this is a good bitch!

Very light garnet almost pink in the glass. Nose of strawberry/raspberry and heat (alcohol). Very thin on the palate with crisp acidity and LOADS of spice (black pepper). Very harsh at first. Very little fruit, nice acidity, very spicy on the palate. Somewhat disjointed. VERY YOUNG. Much like the Evil, this wine takes forever to open up. I left this wine in the decanter for over 4 hours. Becomes mouthwatering with strawberry/raspberry fruit, great crisp acidity, loads of licorice on the back end and nice dose of black pepper. No doubt a lightweight grenache, but overall, after a considerable decant, a nice food friendly simple grenache. I'd be interested in trying this in a year or two to see if it mellows even more. (C+/B-).

Very light, thin bodied, too the point of being watered down. Rose and strawberry on the nose as well as something a little more off-putting which I can not place. Flavors of light berries. A little hot with a sour finish. An unimpressive wine.

I expected this to be an overextracted hot alcohol fruit bomb. In fact, it was light, both in color and flavor. I could see my hand through the wine. It was fine, but a little thin and watery. I only paid $9 so I didn't expect too much, but at the same time there is much better for $9. Don't think I'd buy again other than the fun on giving it as a gift.

Still don't get all the hype on this wine. It lacks everything I expect in a good Aussie grenache and reminds me more of a bad rose. I will not be drinking any more of this. Going to give the last bottle away. I like almost everything R Wines does, not sure why this wine is so bad.

The name and labeling bring to mind Paris Hilton or Lindsay Lohan strutting through Beverly Hills in a fur coat, with an obnoxious little shih-tzu peeking out of her handbag. Off-putting to refined tastes, sure, but not without a certain chintzy glamor. But it turns out this wine lacks even that. I have no problem with it being exceedingly light-bodied, thin and almost fizzy on the mouth. I didn't expect depth of flavor or any length on the finish. The problem is that there's no pop to the fruit flavor. It's a simple, cloying thread of strawberry that is too weak to be described as showy. I won't be buying more. A better wine in this style, for less money, is Georges Duboeuf's Beaujolais Villages. And a better choice for pure fun in a $10 bottle of red wine is the more richly fruited "Hey Mambo" blend by The Other Guys. My recommendation is to avoid this one like you would a new Britney Spears reality series.

And now for something completely different! Color: pale, clear garnet. Nose: Rose petals, sweet cherry blossom, and raspberry. On the palate: Creamy smooth mellow fruit on the initial attack, transitioning into a spicy, yet still fairly mellow midpalate. Black pepper and oak influence, with assorted asian spices. The finish is pretty long, and again, moderate in power. It is a little more spice than fruit. Overall, a simpler wine. It's a little hot-especially initially-but much of that heat blew off within 30-45 minutes of bottle opening in the glass. One poster said something about forgetting what you think a grenache is supposed to be like and enjoy this for what it is. I agree. Even though I love grenache from the rhone, there is definitely something quite easy drinking and enjoyable about this. Nice alternative pizza wine, and at $8.99, a reasonable value.

A deceptive wine - lightly colored and delicately textured, but explosively flavored. A faint nose of red fruit is followed by brisk, clean flavors of freshly crushed Rainier cherries, strawberry rhubarb pie, and asian spice. A delicate, almost Pinot-like texture (much lighter than a typical Grenache) is counterbalanced by a bright streak of acidity that keeps the flavors dancing in the mouth. An intriguing wine, perfect for warm-weather sipping. Don't let your expectations of what Grenache "should be" detract from this wine; just pretend you don't know what it is and enjoy.

People who gave this a high numerical rating ( > 80) must be out of their minds; I think that's everyone who posted a TN on this horror. For starters, the whole name thing is an offense and a cunning stunt. More to the point, the wine is bad. From the outset it looks all wrong: very pale thin red (how is Grenache like that?). On the palate it is all alcohol (15 %) - there's no fruit, or rather very little, slightly sweet, syrupy finish. They say Chris Ringland is involved. Very little for his sake I hope.

I never met an Aussie that I've been able to hate. I almost always want to but I just can't bring myself to do it. How can you? They're so sincere and gregarious. They treat you like you're their best mate since grade school in the first minute of meeting them. Succeed or fail at anything you were doing at the time, or just introduce yourself by saying your name -- it doesn't really matter. You'll invariably get the same enthusiastic and heartfelt, life-loving response to just about anything you could say or do: "Effen' brilliant mate! Effen' brilliant! Goodonya! Goodonya!"
Seriously. How can you respond to this with hate without being suddenly overcome with a shameful, self-loathing feeling of dread? That just maybe the truth to what you call hate is a really deep rooted envy of being unable to face life with even a fraction of the unpretentious, sincere, good natured cheer that's just been sent your way by someone who one minute ago was a complete stranger? You find yourself staring deep into the Abyss wondering if you can continue to go through life as you have before; with your smug indifference and supercilious demureness. Or, is it possible to forget thinking about only yourself for a moment and actually try to have a good time?
This wine is no different. It's from Australia, and I immediately wanted to hate it from the bottom of my soul. But as much as I tried, I just couldn't do it. There I stood -- at the Abyss. Where I suddenly had to face myself and The Truth. This wine was cheerful and fun -- you might even say it was "gay".....and I liked it.
It was grenache; fruity red berries. But not a serious grenache like a Gigondas or Vacqueryas. Rather, more like a grenache rose. Light bodied, a bit thin and delicate, but with an extra punch of extracted grape skin to give it a glitzy bright red pigmentation and a touch of grit. It was a Venus in Furs. It was a Bitch. I suddenly wanted to invite all my new Aussie friends over, my new gay frinds; my new, gay, Aussie friends -- all together for a big, gay, Aussie party. We'd drink The Bitch by the case, sing show tunes, do impersonations of Olivia Newton-John, Nicole Kidman, Poppy Montgomery, Portia de Rossi, Rachel Griffiths, Elle Macpherson, Susie Porter..... Life would never be the same.

I nearly poured it down the drain when I first opened it. All I got was alcohol and cream. On the mouth it was hot hot hot. So instead of pouring it down the drain I poured it into a decanter and came back 1 hour later.
The nose opened nicely to cotton candy, raspberry, and oh yes cream cream cream. On the mouth it felt a little light although I don't drink that much Grenache not as much fruit as I thought given how big the nose was. Tannins were nice and firm. This wine will benefit from a few years in the bottle.
At $10 I don't rush to buy more but this wine would rank high on the list if I'm in the mood for a budget Grenache.
