Bottle was a replacement from Flowers - and a very generous replacement at that for a much younger vintage.... that aside, we had this wine in 2011 and it seemed thin and lacking body. What a difference few years of age makes. This was nicely full bodied and round. In line with diggidydans note.

Wow this is really pretty. The nose smells of baking spices and stems with a touch of pinot fruit. The body is lean muscle and elegance. The palate has transitioned beyond fruit to cinnamon, cool cola, and leaves. A long finish.

Popped and poured. Light clear red. Quite spicy and herbal on the nose without a lot of fruit. On the palate drying tannins and an intense mineral quality which resembles that from Hirsch but the fruit doesn't stand up to it. Disappointing; unfortunately consistent with my experience with Flowers.

Decanted for two hours. Not much on the initial taste. Understated plum with a hint of carmel. Smooth with well balanced tannins, and a long albeit thin finish. Overall, typical of Pinots, but without the character and complexity I prefer.

Ruby red in color. Intense aromas of plum, black currant and cola. Spreading mouthfeel of dark fruit and chocolate covered cherries. Refined tannins and crisp acidity. Rich, round finish.

Good, but I expected better.

This bottle seemed rather one-dimensional compared to the previous one.

Bright cherries, good balance. Not earthy like typical pinots. Enjoyed with white fish. Looking forward to popping another.
