What a great bottle of wine. Still has much life so I don’t buy the drinking window here. Unfortunately my last bottle. Leathery tannins perfectly balanced with blackberries and a long finish. I want another bottle—perhaps an auction find in the future.

No flaws. Mild rim variation. Moderate sediment. Full of red/blue/black fruit flavors. No tannins. Low to medium alcohol. Medium finish. Delectus - "Ultimate Choice" as this bottle should be. Absolutely drinkable within it's window. Not at peak. Plenty of life left in this one. Sadly, our only.

Drank from a magnum. It paired well with a spice and herb rubbed grilled rib-eye steak. The nose is medium plus, with black berries, currant, and alcohol. The palate is dry but fruit-forward and consistent with the nose. The acidity is medium; the alcohol is pronounced; the tannins are medium; the body is full. The flavor intensity and length are medium plus. This is a very impressive wine, which will stand up to just about any kind of heavy dish that is thrown at it. The 16.8% alcohol, however, is simply over the top, making the wine hot on the palate and tiresome to drink. Drinkeable now, it is likely to last several more years. However, I am not sure that even 2-3 more years will tame the alcohol. A memorable wine which could extraordinary but for the unbalanced alcohol.

Amazing wine! Decanted for 1 hour. Huge fruit on nose and taste - dark cherry, currant, blackberry. Finish is 30 seconds or more. Wine keeps getting better the longer it is out. An absolute treat!!!

The aromas are a powerful combination of blackberries, graphite, currant and a hint of alcohol (this wine clocks in at 16.8%). Across the palate the wine is fruit forward with the currant leading the parade and a oaky note as well. The tannins are very present on the medium length finish now. Needs some additional bottle time for the tannins to smooth out but another solid effort.
