Opened and decanted for about 2 hours before diving in. Nose was incredible from the jump, so very little hesitation. Bottle had been standing for a couple months and the normal monster amount of sediment with these bottles was nonexistent, made me a believer in that methodology. Drank over about 3 hours. In the glass crimson with some almost purple flashes, really not looking it’s age at all I thought, especially in comparison to other bottles in the past. Nose provides cedar, cigar box, ripe blackberry, plum, dark cherry, green pepper, graphite and pencil lead. Mouthcoating on the palate with layered fruit and earth flavors complimented by further tabacco notes. A touch of green pepper, but never off putting and balanced against some sweeter cherry. Lingering finish, one of the best 05 Delectus bottles I have had.

Very pleasant - drank in March 2020. Notes of dried dark fruits, apricots, rust, and leather. Well balanced - this wine is definitely in it’s peak and is really shining right now.

The wine looks crimson colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like black currant (cassis) and oak. It tastes like blackberry, plum, medium toast, stoniness, mushroom and game. The body is full. The wine has leathery texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has medium acidity.

Dacanted for 1.5 hours. Very dark color. Bright cherry on the nose. Taste of tobacco and blueberry with a dry, chalky taste. Not bad, but not a great wine. Probably drank too early.

Dark India ink color. The nose brings a nice balance of cassis and earthy backberry. The palate collects the blackberry, plumb and choclate notes along with mouth coating tannins and ends up with a long finish. Very young still so it needs more time in bottle.

Outstanding product of aging. Balanced with supple tannins in the background after an hour decanting. Still much to give here and clearly at its peak.

Big fat "meh". Over the hill, not bad, but poor QPR. Pass

Had from a tasting machine. Tasting pour only. Okay but nothing special. Would not buy.

Second bottle opened from the cellar, longer decant was tremendously helpful: decanted 1.5 hours, enjoyed over 2. Fantastic delectus vintage

Powerful red, showing good age, advise a decant before enjoying.
