M&PD dinner at Bisato. Having this wine always feels like Christmas. It never disappoints. That being said, this was different than any Ramonty I've had previously. This bottle did not have as much spearmint or flint as Ramonty usually has. It was also quite green in color (in the glass) and had a bigger weight (in the mouth) than I've experience previously with this wine. This bottle was even heavier than a pinot, but not syrupy. Light smoke on palate and finish. The finish was perfect btw - holding all the flavors for some time.

M&PD Tasting: Bisato (Seattle, WA, USA): These are just such a special treat. Green in the glass, wow what a nose, spearmint, just explosive. The palate is mineral and salty. Indescribably good.

Ramonet Montrachet Lunch (Phoenix, AZ USA): Ripe fruit on the attack, intensely mineral and very long finish. A very serious wine, and a great showing. Not a surprise on the reveal.
Crazy and embarrassing as this is, this is the third time I have had this wine in a month. Each bottle has been consistently excellent, '06 was a strong vintage for Ramonet.

Served blind. Young, oak is prominent at first. As it got more air and warmed up (served too cold) the precision and depth of the wine revealed itself. Still a bit of oak to be integrated, but clearly in a good spot and will get better. If opened anytime soon, be sure to give yourself a lot of time with this wine it would be a shame to rush and miss the evolution in the glass.

BORGOGNA BIANCA DA VINOGODI: Degustato alla cieca. Classico stile cremoso, grasso, opulento, oleoso e caloroso. E' ben bilanciato, gigante e molto inserito nell' annata, ma non ha lontanamente la complessità degli altri vini... nemmeno del Bourgogne di Coche.

So fat and new world like, that I was initially convinced that this was a fake. Layers of concentrated fruit and after a few hours the expected minerality starts to come thru. I like my burgs lean and mean though and this was just too big for me. It brought tears to a friend though, and if you give this 93 or 99 points is just a matter of appreciation of a certain style.

Tasted roughly half a glass at HDH auction (thanks Burgundy Al). Wine had been open since the prior evening. Soaring and generous nose is as 'chiseled' an aroma as I've recalled smelling in a wine. Layers of orchard fruit, mineral, spice and hints of toast reveal layer at a time. The palate is equally as stunning with a combination of richness and precision that is off the charts. Layers of flavor and texture. A wine that keeps going in depth and length. Wow.

Ramonet Montrachet and Leroy Dinner (goosefoot - Chicago IL): Peach, mint, marzipan and floral notes on the nose. same flavor profile with lots of ripe fruit, but with concentration and intensity that enable this to retain great balance. Moderate acidity vs the other vintages, but it's the most robust and powerful so I expect it will age gracefully.
One glass was left at the end of the evening, so bottle was recorked, refrigerated overnight and then revisited the next afternoon. Almost identical to the night before.

Almost 100% awake but beautiful enough to blow my mind away.
Pure and elegant !!
After drinking good wine for 20+ years then I know about that. If we can wait until the wine shows its prime times every 6 years, it doesn't matter which vintage it came from.
2006 is quite flat, lower acidity but the skill of a great winemaker, the terroir and the right time to drink make me very happy with this wine.
Seamless, vibrant, good density, vivid balance and the promising !!
This is a beautifully good to drink wine with the wonderful aftertaste and long linger finish.
I drank a lot of wines from Ramonet but this is my first time drinking Montrachet, it performed what I've ever expected.
The truly great wine !!!

Drank together with an 08 Batard. This was lighter than the Batard and a much more subtle and delicate wine. The thing that struck me most was the lovely texture and mouth feel - an 01 Haut Brion Blanc is the only thing I+ve drunk that had the same impeccable balance. After a while in the caraffe the minerality started to come through and the last glass at the end of the evening was the best. Delightful now, but as with the Batard, you know that this is still very much in a warm up phase and the real fireworks will come on 5 to 10 years when the wine has integrated a bit more.

Quite a flinty, smoky nose with some honeysuckle and fruit peel. It was explosive in the mouth with really good line for the vintage and was supremely long.

At the end of a beautiful tasting of Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet, at De Librije *** Zwolle, with many a bottle of Ramonet (but also of Leflaive and Carillon) I thought it suiting to have this bottle. It was indeed. Very, very good. Such a step up! Wow!!! Incredible definition, complexity, fruit, everything. One of the best dry whites ever I had.

White of the night for me. Ramonet mint, lush, elegant but not typical 06. Acidity not great, but good enough

Drank in Beaune. Double decanted the wine and it still took 2+ hrs before opening. Too young and will take another 10-yrs before ready.
