A lovely red fruited, mossy, and floral nose. Supple and mid weighted with more red fruits, pastille, florals, and mossy background notes. Finely textured with a softness that belies its hidden depth. This has come into its own quite nicely since my previous bottle in 2012. Quite long on the back end. Drinking at peak and likely will stay there for some time. Lovely. 90

textbook Chambolle. Started very tight but slowly opened up. Austere but elegant with rose notes with a mix of dark and red fruits. Needs some time now since it looks like it has shut down since the previous bottle.

Cork, foil and label showed signs of seepage, Pnp N: discreet on opening. Cherry emerges after 20-30 minutes, then some ethery booze notes intertwine the cherry. P: Firm acidity, a tannic structure still very present gave the impression this was more cotes de nuits than chambolle. None of the delicacy or charm usually associated with a chambolle. Did not give much love over the entire meal, but the bottle wasn't perfect to begin with. Drink or hold, but unlikely to deliver more in the future; the fruit wasn't coming to the table. 13.5% abv

On day one, this was a bruiser. Cola, ripe fruit, some chewiness, and I would have called it Sonoma Coast blind. Not exactly what I think of as Chambolle. Overall it was reasonably balanced, but in retrospect after its showing on day two, my guess is just too young and brooding. On day two, much more perfume, more balance and purity and while not huge on the finesse side, this has excellent mouthfeel, nice spice and deep cherry fruit. Rougher tannins than I usually get in Chamblolle, but this fleshes out and gains balance and presence without a sense of heaviness. There are cooler herbal tones, clove almost, and some chewiness. I like this quite a bit and will hold my next bottle for 3 years. An excellent value. 89 pts

the bloody iron note expressed below is spot on...well done...day 1 this was too tannic for me and not chambolle in character from my experience...recorked 3/4 of the bottle and day 2 it had mellowed a great deal...more of the pretty chambolle red fruit showing but the iron is still there...not what i like in chambolle but it is well made

Chambolle Musigny Blind Tasting: There's a bloody, iron touch on the nose completed with nice floral lift. Elegant red fruits both on the nose and palate. Tannic grip but well structured. It flows litghly on the palate while being nicely balanced. I thought this was 1er Cru quality. Very well done.

taste: Silky and polished feel with medium/high acidity and good tannins along with tones of berries, red cherries, florals, and red fruits. The acidity and tannins are noticeable at this young stage, but aren't too much
overall: Well balanced that really shows off the terroir very well. An excellent village wine that should be really nice in about 5-6 years to really come together

Closed nose but open palette. Red fruit but obvious tannin. A pleasing wine but one wondered if there more to come.

Drinking really well. Fairly delicate but still plenty of fruit and acidity.

Excellent. Soft and drinking well now. Could hold for a few more years but unlikely to improve that much.

Very closed at this point. Hints at what this will become with more time in the cellar.

solid value for Chambolle village wine...depth and structure you don't typically see at this level...only complaint is a bit heavy handed with the oak
