Powerful nose of raspberry, strawberry and slight barnyard. Flavors took half hour to rise above the tannins. Palate of berries, leather, herbs with a solid tannic backbone. Still drinking very nicely.

Lots of cola, oak, and dark fruit on the nose. The palate is unfortunately unbalanced. Highly extracted and too over the top. The finish is oddly bitter, not sure if there is any whole cluster but it tastes bitter for a full minute afterwards. There is little to no acid either which would have rounded things out a little bit more.
This is supposed to be 2007 and this bottling does not do the vintage justice.

This, like a number of the better '07s, is drinking wonderfully right now. Much more red fruit and smoke than I had expected it to show. Improved as it was open over the night.

Served blind and due to big fruit, bold flavors, and largely structured wine with good acids, I guessed this as an 05 vintage, maybe Shea fruit. Surprised as hell to see it as Nysa and of all vintages...07.
Guess I'd better work on my palate some more....
This wine was still improving with air. Maybe 1/2 the bottle will yield some more info tomorrow.

COLOR: Ruby red with a purple hue NOSE: Cherry cola, lavender, and spice MOUTH: Mouth filling red fruit berry and crisp acidity finely matched with tannins OVERALL: Wonderful structure - wish I had more in the cellar

I didn't like many '07 OPN's on release including this, but the winery had a "fire sale" in 2010 to get rid of them. This has really turned a corner! Medium depth of berry/ cherry, earth, and spice. Very nice texture: velvety. Has a couple more years but it's there.

This bottle was better then my last 10 months ago, but still lacked the finesse of the first few. Still in a dumb phase? it'd better be. I have 9 left.

didnt wait the few hours for this to show itself. in the meantime, it was an unpalatable smokey/ashey mishmash of dark brambly fruit/olive and creosote. Decant, as Pav's Pub recommends...

Beautiful oak (more clove than vanillin) complex, great acidity with the finish turning elegant and towards rose water a cherry nuances. Very different style of wine.

moderate richness in the midpalate, but a "lighter" style showing black cherry and rose. what i didn't like was that the finish lost it's focus. i described it as fanning out and evaporating quickly.

Perhaps now its exiting its dumb phase. A really nice cool weather pinot. Great acid, tight flavors. Still needs time to unwind.
