Community Tasting Notes (2) Median Score: 90 points

  • Relatively inexpressive nose. Some fruit on the nose, but otherwise limited. Noticeable alcohol on the nose. Good concentration on the palate. Some green vegetal notes, also notes of rose / floral. Overall a decent wine (90-91), but perhaps not representative of the upper-end Napa caliber (e.g. I would pay $40 for this - not sure what I actually did pay but I suspect much more).

  • Decanted 60 minutes before dinner of bacon-wrapped pork with dates. Was closed at first, but opened with essence of plums and currant. Was not as "jammy" as many Mondavi wines; more reminiscent of their reserve label - but without the typical fruit-forward flavors. Much more of a traditional Cab with mint, eucalyptus and green pepper. Short finish.
