restrained at first but in time reveals very pretty, delicate rose petal, dried cherry and strawberry coulis-like fruit with a bit of beetroot in the background. Super silky and spicy in texture, fine tannin adds width in the mouth with air time. Very friendly today.

FW-BYOB-HT#1: ¤FW - Very nice red Burgundy! Typical pinot spices, lots of red berries and some funky horse manure. Tobacco, leather and some cherries. Light body, round tannins and quite generous fruit. Very drinkable right now, and for me this was the winner of the flight. Only thing keeping the score down was the fact that it didn't really improve during the night, and even though it was still good on day two, it hadn't gained anything.

Nose: Ripe red berries, perfumed, some cherries, floral, menthol, oranges and strawberries. Very seductive and already quite mature on the nose. Taste: Generous with lots of red berries and a bit sweet. Good balance with the acidity. Finish: Not very long, but pleasant and fruit driven. Summary: This is a very seductive wine, especially on the nose. What is lacking is structure and complexity.
a really good pinot! nose is amazing, strawberry, citrus, floral. violets. taste is immediate, lots of fruit, blue and red. but it is a tad overwhelming. i wish they wud have held it back just a little, the taste is really good, dont get me wrong. its not jammy, but lacks a little elegance. finish is medium, alcohol level is on the money. spices are there. and all in all a GOOD pinot!
Opened an hour before serving. Very nice, elegant. Red fruit on the nose, some spice. Strawberries, sweetness in the mouth, fine/lacey tannins, with a touch of bitterness toward the finis that disappeared with air. A touch of heat toward the medium finish. A very pleasant wine.

Domaine de Montille dinner - Confrerie des Chevalier du Tastevin, Singapore (Harbour Grill, Hilton Hotel): The most immediately charming of the fight of Volnays, and probably of all the reds over the evening. Nose was very high-toned, very Volnay, with perfumed notes of crushed flowers, stewed cherries, a touch of metallic mineral and some dired earth. Great aromatics here, but it just struck me as being on the sweet side. Much the same on the palate. Very good clarity of flavours, with fleshy, sappy sweet strawberries and more crushed flowers seasoned with a touch of spice. Again, rather high-toned, but nicely held up with fine tannins. Balance was pretty good too. Just a hint of heat at the finish speaking of the vintage, but otherwise, plenty of sweetness at the end, with candied notes of boiled sweets and sweet cherries along with a touch of pepper and a long minerally tail. Rather obvious sweetness aside, a good wine that would benefit from some age.

Nose: silky earth, salmiac, black currant and strawberries
Attack: intense and earthy, earth and strawberries in silk.
Midpalete: tobacco, coffee, earth, strawberries, cherries, black currant. Good acidityand pretty full body. Silky meat tones too.
Finish: tobacco and earth, long and dry.
This wine is a good value burgundy at it´s peak.
