Following the note of mdkraft I opened this well in advance of drinking. You are unlikely to find a more extracted, dark, inky purple wine than this; the glass stains the instant the wine makes contact. A pleasant, perfumed aroma, somewhat floral in nature, lots of dark berry fruit cover the palate, some element of a phenolic or resinous note gives it texture. At around $17 I am feeling good; if I had paid the full whack, I might not be so happy.

Very dark, inky wine, decanted for 1+ hour and it needed it; very big, dark fruit and oak, some chocolate; started out tight, and got better with some time. Interesting blend, great wine if you find it for a good price.

Decanted for 1hr, very dark, very ripe, very extracted, very big with a lot of licorice, anise and oak that dominated the undertones of plum and chocolate.

This a young tannic wine, that needs some time to come together. 44% petite syrah, 41% syrah, 8% cabernet, 7% petite verdot. 85% fruit from Sonoma 15% from Rutherford, 389 cases produced. Will reserve rating:

Drinking well right now. Dark, dark, inky purple. Some cherry and baking spice. Good QPR (at $15).

Drinking well right now. Nice aroma on the nose, some leather mixed with lots of dark berry scent. Great fruit flavors and long, smooth finish.

Dark fruit in the nose, with spicey undertones and good balance, plenty of life left.
