Oak predominated on the nose, hard to get much else through, but some red fruit and floral notes after sitting a while. Perhaps should have decanted? Oak in the mouth as well, but otherwise very well balanced in terms of tannin and acidity. Rebuy: no.

Same very pretty red fruit with slight perfume, this bottle slight gaminess and a bit more robust than the last, still a very pleasant everyday drinker that is ready now.

Pretty much the same as the last bottle, very fragrant nose, but not as focused as the 1er crus. Not as persistent as the last bottle, started to drop a bit after 3hrs.

V good for a village, light red color, nose opened up tremendously after 1.5 hours and the wines stayed in form for at least 4hours, light to medium palate, open nose with red flower, strawberry + grapefruit, medium finish with minerals, v nice for its level.

Fairly simple with tart cherry and cranberry fruit at first; with some air the fruit profile darkens as some plum and smoky elements emerge, but this remains quite boring though certainly quite elegant and easy to drink.

cask sample at en primeur. red fruit with rustic tannins and mouth feel. rocky and a touch sweet, possibly lacking acid for a good ager. tannins are big and rough. unsure about this one.

Not too bad of a bottle now, but definitely still young. The tannins and oak are certainly present, and could use some time to mellow out.
Ripe cherry, cranberry, black tea with cream, peppery spice, hints of sous bois and funk.
Lots of backbone though; seems like this could spend a couple decades in the cellar and improve.

Howard Ripley 2007 Burgundy Tasting (Middle Temple, London): Quite dark fruited nose - quite a lot of smoky oak. very fresh. Pretty, light - a little insubstantial in fact. Quite short with some firm tannin at the tail end.
