Flat fruit, little interesting secondary development, just a bottle of old chardonnay that should have been drunk five years ago. Another confirmation that Petaluma whites need drinking within 3 years of vintage, as a rule.

Drink up now, this is very yellow and taking on distinctly oxidative notes, to go with the lashings of oak. Not buying this label ever again - a more over-rated Australian wine doesn't exist.

Deep yellow. A developed nose of cashews and peaches, with nutty oak nuances. The palate is quite inviting - largely balanced towards the front of the tongue. The acids are quite soft, although the wine is still holding up OK. Still a wisp of grapefruit flavour on the palate. The body is quite full and round and alltogether quite harmonious, although lacking the last word in complexity. The wine is let down only by the finish, which is really quite short. You want to keep the flavour in your mouth - you gotta keep refilling your glass! But that's not particularly a struggle! Pleasant but not great - I suspect will keep for a little longer, although further aging will only be detrimental to the wine.

NobleRottersSydney - Tucker Seabrook (Darling Mills, Glebe): Peaches and mangoes on the nose, but it’s the oak that makes the impact on the palate. Acid carries it along, then the cashew flavours come to the fore. Seems very young and needs a little time to knit together.
