On our first nite in PV, out on our deck with rotisserie chicken. Not much better than this! The wine is wonderful. I love the stone fruit prunyness of it.

Ehh.. Not bad, total disjointed mess and changed drastically from totally muted in the first 15min in the glass to over blown fruit, to barnyard, ultimately back to muted.

medium bodied, starts woth raspberry then turns to plum and dark fruit on the palate, good acidity, nice mouthfeel of gravel and stone, finishing with chocolate or licorice. Good wine and nice qpr for $16.

I love the nose on this. Smoked meat, dark fruit, and a little stink. Medium body with dark berries and minerality on the palate. Should be very food friendly.

This wine evolved during the year and turned into a very solid bottle for the price. Nice medium finish, fills the palate. Good balance between fruit and dirt so that it taste like a Rhone should. Very reliable producer who crafted a nice weekday wine. It won't blow you away, but for the wino's out there this is a very nice drink for a nice price.

had this wine over two nites, and have to confirm I love it. I loved the 2005 as well. maybe it is the prune/plum flavors I am getting, but whatever, I love it.

Color rather light. Day 1: nothing but some heat on palate; Day 2: strong floral aroma emerge but cloying; Day 3: things come together, some sweet fruit with thight acid. Interesting!

Seemed to be all barnyard and no fruit. A tough crude wine that yielded little flavor. I have more of it so we will see if this was just an off bottle or if we are in a dumb phase.

My first bottle, from the closeout bin at my local wine shop. Purchased on recommendation of the proprietor who knows my tastes. At this point in its life I would deem it an easy drinker; there is just a bit of acid and very little tannin presently, but the blackberry and raspberry flavors are pleasant. But there's not much in the wine that makes you sit up and take notice; it's enjoyable, but not flashy. I'd recommend drinking through the next year or so.

Impressive bottle of wine. Aromas of black fruit, dried sage, and dried rosemary. Medium to full bodied. Lush blackberry flavors on the palate leading to a cocoa/ coffee bean finish. Mild tannins. ($20)

Popcorn and earthiness. Less powerful and more elegant. Rather full on the palate but not out of character or too huge. Just noticeably big. With some oak notes traveling through the palate. Grenache and Syrah and Mouedre and Cinsault. So there you go.

Trip to the Southern Rhone; 6/11/2009-6/12/2009 (Avignon, Chateauneuf du Pape, Gigondas and the Dentelles du Montmirail): Another wine from the outstanding 2007 vintage that shrugged off its lower-profile appellation to show real quality. Nose had lovely fruit, with sweet cassis, plums, redcurrants and licorice. Palate was rather simple, with little roast meat hints along with more redcurrants and a touch of mineral. Fine structure though, along with a nice balance and a round, softness on the palate which was really appealing. Finish was longish, with fine stony minerals. Pretty good.

Soft tannins. Good fruit extraction. Blackberries, chocolate, licorice, and cloves. Medium finish. Paired well with food.

Oh how I love this wine! What else can I say. At five years of age it is brilliant. Stome fruit, balanced, rich, flavourful. Just love it!

NSMFOW January 2010--Battle of the Wine Proprietors (The Grapevine, Salem, MA): Dark ruby to purple. Briary fruits, meat, iron with a slight vegetal quality. Much less fruit and more meaty than the Vacqueyras. Enough alcohol to make it a bit more hot and flabby.

peppery, stonger tannins, basically represents what 07 rhone is.

Quite big and flashy, missing a touch of acidity and finesse to my taste - but a very good wine nonetheless.
