Excellent, 13.5% alc. Colour: blackberry, dark chocolate, coffee Bouquet: subtle blend of blackberry, coffee, mint, dark chocolate, a touch of French oak character coconut and spice Palate: intense fruit, at the same time subtle, nuanced, big but soft tannins and incredibly balanced. Rich and full flavoured, similar flavours to bouquet, especially coffee and chocolate with plums, some licorice, complex, long clean finish. April 2016

Excellent, 13.5% alc. Colour: black berry, dark chocolate Bouquet: eucalyptus which fades a little with breathing, mint, plum fruit, coffee, cedar, developed supple and developed fruit characters Palate: as bouquet, fine pencil shavings, big bodied mint and plum fruit, big soft tannins, but very elegant still. Incredibly smooth, dry following sweet fruit initially. Incredible balance. March 2015

My only magnum of the 1994 vintage (I have several 1991's, which this was drunk with). The masculine version of the 1991, which a bit more power and alcohol / glycerine, but the same length and complexity. See my note on the other bottle as well. Both great vintages, and interesting to drink the two side by side, as the winemaking philosophy but also some of the terroir comes through. I should read about the differences in climate between the two years. Also highly recommended.

brick in colour and just a hint of brett in the second half of the bottle as the oygen had its effect . Still smooth with black berries and a hint of licorice .

Young in color and still quite unevolved. Plum and other black fruits, unobtrusive oak. Acid level fine (was a little screechy 2/08). One would not mistake this for Bordeaux, despite the blend, but this is a wine of substance with a long way to go.

Very Dry Cork and a difficult extraction. Worth the effort the wine was still deep red, no browning around the edge. Vibrant black fruits on the nose & palate. Mint was evident. Leather and Dark Chocolate. Slightly drying tannins. Still some bottle aging potential.

Still quite dark at 13 years old, black currant fruit, some mint, integrating into well-aged wine of interest. - At least enough acid,. Will be interesting to see if it develops more over the next few years.

NobleRottersSydney - Margaret River v Coonawarra (Lucio's, Paddington): {13.5%} Mid red, although perhaps the palest of the reds so far. The nose show plenty of sweet US vanillan oak, but the aromas are not harsh in any way. Warm ripe developed red berry fruit notes follow. On the palate it’s a lovely aged style – soft and integrated, the palate evenly coated with faintly herbal fruit. As it sits, gentle coconut notes come to the fore, along with some gentle aged varnish/leather tones. It’s not a blockbuster style, and ultimately the finish tends toward short and hollow, but it’s very drinkable.

Beautiful wine, blackberry, deep garnet, low alcohol, excellent balance, medium nose and finish; as it should’ve been.

remarkably fresh - good example of how Lindeman's produced fine wines in the 90s .

Not obviously corked but fruit muted compared with other bottles. Certainly drinkable and even enjoyed by people, but not the best bottle.
