The 2001 vintage started earlier than usual because of a very hot few weeks prior to picking. The vines were well protected by a good canopy growth in the spring and produced excellent fruit that showed intense, rich flavours, good structure and mature ripe tannins 18 months in American oak 100% Shiraz Cork closure from Magnum -cellar release Good solid natural cork 3-4mm penetration

Deep garnet in color. Nose of blackberries, dark cherries, leather and menthol. Taste of blackberries, dark cherries, cranberries, licorice, and hint of tar. Very young but heavy licorice flavor that takes away from some of the fruit.Pronounced acidity. May continue to evolve. Drink in 3 to 5 years.

Still displaying deep ruby/purple colour. Medium/pronounced nose with plenty of black fruit and hints of spice. The palette revealed much of the same, although I do feel that this wine is at its best now and if anything is starting to show signs of age. So drink up soon! Very good

Monthly Tasting Group HWS #020; Australia: Shiraz. (By PdVr): Opaque purple red, horse stable, ripe fruits mainly blackberries. A sweet start, then good acidity blackberries, black currants, chocolate, laurel, mint, eucalyptus and nice integrated wood. Long aftertaste, Although the taste is more than ok, I thought the bouquet was the most impressive.

Experienced in a flight at Varietal Wine Bar in NYC - the best of the flight and of the evening. Perfumed with lavendar and violet, rich, jammy, and spicy on the nose. On the palate, black fruit and chocolate. Full bodied, medium + acid and medium tannins. Can drink now but can age. Paired with it in the tasting was a 2003 Montes Alpha Shiraz and Alain Voge "Les Peyrouses” Cotes-du-Rhone 2004.

Fantastic wine - viscous, full-bodied with a long finish. Beats other wines at double the price. Likely will improve with age but am not sure my lot will last that long.

14.5% alc...Really gorgeous nose of earth, ripe red fruit, chocolate and maybe a touch of oak (no decanting necessary)...fuller-body, but this wine has some kickin acids as well that make this extremely balanced with weight and extraction. The finish goes on and on. Early in the game for this wine, I intend to lay some down for 2-3 years if I can leave 'em alone.

My last bottle. Thought time was running out, but I was wrong. Still a powerful wine. Maybe a little over extracted, but I'm lovin it.

Chunky, full and concentrated, but in spite of its weight almost elegant, excellent definition in the fruit, flawless, aromatic and long.
