Blackberry and current on the nose with hints of other fragrances now indistinguishable. Thick and full bodied mouthfeel of dark cherry flavors. Dusty reminder mid-palate of what was once a powerful tannic structure. Problem free medium to long finish. Held together well into it's maturity and could still have another year left. Found an ideal pairing with roasted lamb chops and rosemary spiced potatoes. I will miss this wine.

Dark violet in the glass, no transparency except at the meniscus. Old blackberry, cedar, and forest floor on the nose. Very subdued tannins support a thick palate of black cherry and boysenberry flavors. Almost a syrupy mouthfeel which would detract, except it still has full bodied character. Problem free medium length finish. There's a good chance this will improve, and develop more subtlety on the palate in the next couple of years. Not a great pairing with baked glazed ham, as it begs for something meatier.

Straddling the apex b/w a primary and secondary phase. Has some classic cold berries that work well with sandy tannin, all very old school, but it does fall away somewhat in the back palate. Still, I like what I'm seeing at 10yrs.

Served immediately, no decant. Blackberry, currant with hints of leather and lead pencil on the nose. Medium to thick mouthfeel with a fine tannic backbone. Smooth palate of dark cherry flavors with a touch of spice. Medium length finish without any excess heat. Throws a bit of sediment at the end. Paired nicely with medium rare Porterhouse steaks and roasted potatoes.

this has to be the best $12 i've ever spent on a bottle of wine. It demanded patient, and it's worth the wait. Decanted for about 1hr - cinamon, star anise and dark cherry - on the palate, very well balanced, there's a bit of soft & dry tanin, fruity and lingering with blueberry and cherry. enjoyed with home roasted chicken.

Very nice nose, some menthol leading to blackcurrant. Palate nicely balanced and long. This is an elegant wine which is made in an old fashioned style with the ability to age for many years although it is very nice on release (the 2006 has just been released).

Lots of dark fruit, with cedar and cinnamon. The palate is medium bodied and well balanced. Hints of spice carry the finish.
