A better showing with better focus and sweetness less noticeable. Light, golden hue. Nice Gewurztraminer aromatics while retaining some elegance. rose and spice elements most noticeable. Nice texture with just enough acidity to keep the aromas focused. Yes. The sweetness contributes considerably to the texture, but in this case it works. Long, clean finish. No hurry to drink.

A nice wine but lacking focus and balance. Yes. This wine has aged quite nicely. I don't mind the golden hue; totally appropriate for a 21 year old Gewurztraminer. The aromatic intensity shows that the ripeness was excellent. What is upsetting is the high level of R.S. so apparent in this wine that nobody chooses to mention. There is not enough acidity in this wine to balance this, which is not surprising given that Gewurz is a low acid variety. This is for all of you praising the "wild yeast" fermentations. Enjoy the sugar...

Quite a light gold color, obviously well preserved; very bright and clear. The nose follows the suggestion of the color, with very fresh aromas of mandarin orange, slate, and the flattering touches of honey, petrol and white floral. The palate continues the freshness, with a medium body that offers textbook flavors, layers and structure. I don't recall ever having this wine in this vintage before, and I have to say, 17 years on, wow, did I get lucky with this pristine bottle - it made a wonderful impression. Finishes long, composed with the perfect amount of lift. No such thing as great wines, or great bottles, just (got lucky with) good corks. Thru 2024. recommended
Served non-blind. Excellent food wine.

varietally correct gewurz (tropical, lychee, mango, floral) with an aged (as opposed to fresh) component; the question with good gewurz is usually not whether it shows the varietal qualities, but whether it does so with the right weight/viscosity and acidity; this wine is dense and long without being heavy or thick, but acidity is waning

Delightfully fresh. The aroma suggests ginger. Tree ripe mango flavor. Intellectually pleasing contrast of aroma and flavor. Silky mouthfeel. Balanced and clean finish.

Fun wine. The color shows some age. Great aromas of lychee, floral and honey notes that follow through on the palate. Faint sweetness. I would have liked a little more acidity but overall very enjoyable.

Decent bottle. Not quite as impressive as the last one, but still quite good. Well-balanced. I suspect this bottle was not sufficiently chilled. I have one more, which I may put into deep storage to see how it ages.

Back on the top of the heap. Beautiful bottle (no bubbles or anything approaching that for me). Perfectly balanced. Delicious, smooth. How long will the others last?
Still good the next day. Put just under 375 into a 375 bottle and stuck in in the fridge. Great bottle.

I forgot to post this TN when I drank the wine, so this is a bit from memory. Given my previous TNs this wine was a bit disappointing. Not very fresh. I am afraid it might be past its peak. I have 3 more, and I will be drinking them in short order. Maybe just some bottle variation -- but I fear that it is not.

Popped and poured, with Thai and alone. COLOR: Beautiful gold with some tiny bubbles. Very promising. NOSE: Lots of fresh fruit. Apples, pears, but an off scent in the background - cat pee? minerals? Having second thoughts. TASTE: Hellooo fruit. Almost apple juicy, which would have been nice, but there is that off note again. Like vinegar. It really kicks in on the finish and leaves you wanting to give back yyour tastebuds. OVERALL: Not sure if this is flawed, but I certainly didn't enjoy it. I will try another bottle if the opportunity arises, just to be sure. No score in the box in case it is flawed. (4+9+12+5 = 80)

Medium gold. Lychee, bone dry finishes with a touch of bitterness -- licorice or maybe quinine as someone said. Definite gewurz spiciness and paired well with Chinese food.

Medium gold color. No detailed notes taken but very fragrant on the nose, with elements of lychee and spring flowers and quite a bit of minerality. On the palate this is full bodied and very silky, just a touch off-dry.

Good, although not quite as pleasing as the last bottle -- could have been the pairing with the food, which was seafood ravioli. Nevertheless, still very enjoyable. Next time, I will treat it more like a dessert wine to see what that is like. Still very happy to have them.

Great bouquet of rose and wet stone. Huge lychee fruit and a touch of sweetness on the first taste, but quickly finishes dry as a bone. Excellent minerality and acidic balance to the overripe(?)fruit. We had with Chilean Sea Bass with Wasabi Teriyaki and the match was great.

Full bodied, just a distant hint of sugar, light petrol notes. On the palate peach, litchi, and ginger. A little smoky with air. Good showing. B+/A-
