Beautifully mature nose displaying sweet red fruit, cherry, strawberry, a hint of sous bois, cep, sweet spices and earth. Medium concentration, sweet red fruit, silky and fluid, perfect amount of acidity and mineral, and a medium long sweet red fruit driven clean finish. This is drinking very well.

It was completely flat. Not defective, just utterly inexpressive swill. Taken from magnum with a bit of air a few hours ahead of time. But truly underwhelming, just water really. If you have this in magnum please hold it for ten more years.

Very primary on opening, so a full decant two hours before dinner. Deep red colour. Pungent nose of red fruit - red cherries and raspberries - spice and earth. Also, an attractive savoury component, brushwood, mushroom and black olives. A day later, a sample left at room temperature had retained most of its aromatics and flavour profile. Bright, succulent red berries on palate, turning mushroom, black truffle, earth and licorice. Smooth, refined tannins, with sufficient mid palate weight and good length. The feature of this wine is its tension and fine acidic backbone, that I really liked. Oak well integrated. Not a blockbuster. Drinking well now and probably not for very long term cellaring but I am intrigued to look at this in another 5 years, when secondary flavours should have fully emerged. 93
