More mature than expected, but utterly enjoyable. Well balanced, with classic complexity. The kind of red burg that I wish I could pull from the cellar at least once a week. Everything one could hope for at this level from this vintage.

Rather advanced appearance brick orange at rim, not brilliantly clear. Very pungent spicy earthy aromas, but then a bit tart, fruit fading, seeming like a "Natural wine". Finish a bit astringent. Flavorful, and anything but dull, but not for everyone.

C: Deep, dark Pinot. Purple, burgundy velvet. N: This is how a wine fantastic wine/Pinot smells! Fantastic nose of mushrooms, forest floor, wet moss steaming in the sunshine after a heavy summer rain. Some spices come through in a subtle way. Ripe flavours of red fruit, some raisins, a bit of intoxicating sweetness. P: Fantastically smooth. Full, mouth-coating flavours of ripe cherries, sweet raisins, plenty of acidity, fine tannins that flow from beginning to end. Lovely complexity with the Christmas spices in the mid-palate. Long, long finish. What a full, round, complete wine. Not flabby, not over-ripe, not overly oaked, no aggressive tannins. Just smooth and soft and veluptuous. O: Absolutely wonderful. One could argue that the "raisin" notes are a bit too ripe (but not for me), and that this will not last much longer. Perhaps also heavier, darker and less perfumed (but more spiced) than some Burgundies could be expected to be, but definitely rich and silky like a good Vosne Romanee should be. This village wine is definitely punching above its weight.

Love this domaine in past vintages. Appreciate it less for the 2007's. Darker for burgundy. Smokey on the nose, with black cherry, violet, nutmeg and leather. The mouth could have been more complex, mostly sour cherry and smoke. A little undefinable, though good enough. The oak is well integrated. Medium length. Despite its youth, the tannins are fairly approachable.

Couldn't rate this wine. Very disappointing. Seemed way past its prime. Flat , boring. Nothing enjoyable.

This is just lovely now. Vosne spice magic. Lots of mature strawberries and some secondery notes.
