Nose is very floral, with very strong, jammy, red cherry and appealing asian spices. Palate shows smoky red fruit, and a nice hint at wood shavings and cumin. Really fresh and fun to drink, but it is definitely still a little big for my taste -- the tannins coat the palate. I think I would have guessed premier cru if I tasted this blind...

Trip to Burgundy; 6/7/2009-6/10/2009 (The Cote d'Or): A little step up from the Bourgogne. Cut flowers, dusky cherries and spice on the nose. Good sappy red fruit on the palate. Lots of charm here, with a nice freshness and plenty of structure to boot. Good clean finish showed some dried wood spice and orange peel. A nice village.

Nice lifted nose here; young but good potential on the palate.

Amiot-Servelle (at the winery): Very similar to the Bourgogne rouge in that its a bit austere but it has a bit more oomph. 88-89
