Splash decant. Classic BDX style. Plum, blackcurrant and tobacco, along with forest floor and leather. Just a tad tart on the finish. For $24, this is a solid weekday companion - drink with decant.

Deep garnet/brick color. Fragrant nose of dark fruit, space and a touch of green pepper. The dark fruit continues on the palate with nice secondary flavors of cinnamon, and tobacco, and again a very mild green pepper flavor. The finish is very slightly astringent. The tannins are fairly well resolved and the fruit has peaked. Drink now and over the next 2-3 years. Decant for sediment. 13% abv. This is a classic drinking claret and punches well above its price point.

Still a pretty youthful purplish ruby in color, which was a bit of a surprise. But there’s clear development on the nose, with mushroom, leather, and cigar-box notes taking precedence over the sour cherry and currant fruit aromas. Very dusty-cellar, old-house, old-leather smelling. I like it. On the palate, it’s maybe even more developed—no more than medium bodied, with just a light brush of spicy tannin remaining to play against the fading but nicely perfumed red fruit. On the finish, you get a bit of the cedar and mushroom character and a touch of spice, all of which lingers for a good long while. All in all, it’s a tastefully made, nicely developed classic claret from good but not exalted terroir in a decent but not great vintage. And there’s nothin’ wrong with any of that. It’s still got some life left, but it’s in a good place now.

PnP in Guinea Grill. Semi-aged colour. Nose dominated by lean Cabernet fruit - quite austere. Palate shows leafy blackcurrant and a touch of leather. Drink in next year or two **

Good colour, mid-garnet; Merlot led advanced nose, forward, damsons; soft entry, red fruits, then tightens- pinched feel, hollow; long but attenuated finish.

Lightish claret, slightly watery rim. Nose medium intensity with savoury dominating fruit. In the mouth, Off dry entry, soft tannins, blackcurrant, wood, leather. Balanced profile. Actually, forget all that... This is a really nice drop. A good step up from lunchtime claret and a fine advert for Bdx. This is right in my sweet spot. Bear in mind I like them light, savoury and refreshing.

Black courant, and a hint of grassiness. The bouquet promises something more than the wine delivers. The wine is good, but disappointing when compared with outstanding wines from the region. The price is right.
Beautiful scent and character, it reminds you just how special and classy inexpensive Bordeaux can be. The fruit is perhaps beginning to fade a little, the integration and balance unravel. But 2008 Senejac still offers great pleasure as well as outstanding QPR.
Drinking nicely and very fresh. Scented nose with big cassis notes, leather and wood. Very correct. Not a heavy hitter but where it should be. '08 Bdx is a favourable vintage in my opinion and good value to boot

drank over two hours, good left bank profile that mellowed over the course of the bottle. Great bistro bordeaux, great value will be buying more for drinking over the next 3 or so years.

Thursday Night at Chris' (Chris' House): Decanted for a short period of time, followed over about 45 minutes. A classic Bordeaux nose of red and black currants, graphite, herbs, light bell pepper and earth. The palate is not particularly concentrated, but is well balanced, has excellent acidity and is not overripe. Finish is moderate. This is a perfect sub $25 claret for short term drinking. A lot of character for a relatively small price tag.

Weekday Tasting (My Place): Very pleasant maturing bordeaux nose of earth, leather, and graphite. A bit green and lean on fruit. Palate is very tannic and firm. Good value in the realm of Bordeaux.

What a pleasent suprise! Value Bordeaux is back. Nose is not strong, nice legs and hint of oak. Right amount of acidity. Weak but long finish. Peaked after 2 hours of breathing but showed good signs after 1 hours. The price I paid for 18 months ago was too good to be true. This is the first bottle of a case of 12 and I am looking foward to have 1 on each quarter. Can't wait to try my 09's.

Better than last bottle. PnP. Medium garnet and transparent rim, nose of dark fruits and some oak, palate is relatively bland with some dark fruit, cafe au lait and oak, fine tannins. Short finish. Can still wait for a 6 months for the oak to fully integrate but don't think this will improve dramatically

Decanted and drank over 2h. Medium garnet with a transparent rim. Medium body, little tannins. Hope this wine comes together over time as it is rather disjoint currently. There is plenty of oak to be absorbed (hopefully) and the fruit on the palate is also rather flat with a short finish. Rating is more based on potential, currently it's drinking like 85. Try again in 6-12 month

Good – clean mid to dark ruby appearance; fruit and oakiness on nose; off-dry; mid (?) acidity; mid tannins; mid body; mid length finish but acidic and mouth drying on finish. Very fruity – bothj red and black fruits; bit oaky; decanted though a vinturi but drank straight away. Needs a bit more time; Had with Shepherds Pie.

Youthful dense colour. Quote blocky on nose and palate. After three days this has opened out nicely into an elegant clatter. Needs time.

More plum and cherry on opening, develops into darker fruit flavors with air.
Well resolved tannins. Medium finish.
Very nice indeed.
