  • Leathery. Stable and some tannins left. Celllared for 10 years. Rich elegant pomerol.

  • Medium-bodied, lighter-styled, earthy, silky, fully developed wine with a soft, earth, and savory, plum character that will be at its best over the next 5 years or so.

  • Dark core, brownish rim. Aromas are not as primary and explosive as some years ago but still vey expressive. Chocolate, fruit, smoke. Meaty body, but still on the lean side, not juicy. By far better at this stage than Certan de May or left bank Leoville Poyferre.

  • This Pomerol is lighter than others but a nice starter wine - has violets, black brambly fruits, hint of spice, sweetness and fruity finish with a slight tinge of liquorice finish.

  • 2 days later:
    Plastic Padding is gone.
    Wine is rich and rewarding.
Pure and yet true to its origin.
Still feeling like an unnecessarily young Merlot.
    Tight and rather promising.
Really looking forward to our last btl some time around 2025-ish.

  • I challenge this wine's stepmotherly score here on CT.
However, that's ok in a way, since this wine may, thus, stay affordable.

    Dark red.
Quite a fabulous nose. Took us by surprise, as we'd expected a better CT-88 quaffer. This wine is rich, interesting and clearly something for the future. Fruity-young, but with fine oak, Bdx earth, sulphur (lighting up a match), Merlot heaven and a full lawn of vegetal forest-like aromas. Lovely, promising and inspiring.

On the palate, this wine really is above our 90p-line. By far. It is refined, rich, enticing with a precise expression of bdx that lifts my expectations for this vintage. Actually: never had a single btl from 2007 on par with this humble Chateau's potential. Tannins M++, acids M+++ on a medium bodied, elegant and intense wine. No CS here. Slightly harsh with a somewhat tart acidic expression, but caressing tannins. Finish starts off with rich, oak-and-cassis-bdx-earth aromas, but is carried through by Plastic Padding for 3-4 minutes or so.

    Quite a deal breaker :-(

Great Pomerol wine, but no cigar.

Will never make it to Valhall, but may still slay several trolls. Not an appealing QPR, but ok for its origin.
    Wife: 93p.
At very pleasant neighbour restaurant: La Verdura.

  • This was open with 2004 Le Gay during Lunch. The wine was medium red in color, nose was not so intense but red fruits jumped out such as raspberries, red sweet cherries, definite note of wood shavings, bit of forest floor and volatile acidic astringency. The palate was easing, but still very green and herbaceous, red fruits very notciable, drying, and needed some time to soften the tannins in the glass. On its own was tough but with food (here it was seabass, steak and lamb chops) it was going nicely. Still very good but I could not get it to 90 as the tannin and acidity were not balancing during the entire time.

  • Test med granne. 2 tim på decanter. Härlig bärig och lite kryddig näsa. Utssende något ung men svärt säga utomhus. Balanserad i munnen men med tannin och syra på slutet. Böör ligga ett tag till

    The wine looks Violet colored.
    The legs are Medium.
It smells like Black currant (cassis), and Black Pepper.
    The body is Medium.
    The wine is textured Silky.
    The wine finishes Short.
