Mid garnet; classic Bordeaux bouquet with tilled soil, cedarwood, graphite an d pencil lead joined by cassis, sweet red plum and forest fruits. Medium-bodied, the entry is quite dry with a gravelly texture, some fairly ripe fruits that veer more to red than black. Notes of cedarwood, black cherry, tar and a lick of vanilla the wine seems a little foursquare (square-jawed) with firm, chunky tannins. It doesn't feel that complicated but rather approachable with a modern feel (quite a note of toasty oak) to the mid-palate. It hasn't the concentration or complexity of a top wine, but a lovely drink. Well put together, medium finish.

Very dark hue with crimson tints. Profound nose with delicate oak and roasted coffee scents and notes of graphite, cherries, currants and cassis. Very aromatic and intense. There is more of the same on the palate with notes of leather, a wonderful fullness melted tannins and fruit that is starting to show through even though the finish is still very oaked. Loads of fresh acidity and a clean tart cherry aftertaste. Classically framed claret with elegance and grip and a long, satisfying finish. Typically I would suggest drinking this wine within the next five to eight years. However, I suspect this wine has the potential to age well and might be cellared for a much longer period in order to gain maturity and additional character.

Creamy butter in the bouquet as well as on the palate. Red as well as black forest fruits, still firm tannin, but the creamy impressions are dominating. The acidity was less disturbing this time. Young maturity now, probably a bit better around 2014.

Classical style Bordeaux with a firm amount of acidity and cassis. The tannin has still enough power. Medium bodied. An ok wine which will soften a bit with another 3 years of ageing, but I am afraid the acidity will always play a major role in this wine.

Great pepper, leather, and earthiness on the nose but can use some cellaring. Excellent structure with supple silky mid-palate. Overall, from an old sommelier, much better than rated online at a blockbuster price.

Dark, bright. Nose of leather and meat. Velvet tannins, clean fruit, and sharpish back end. Cherry. Modestly savoury. Good. Some very fine sediment.

A very bland bordeaux. I really wanted to like this wine, didn't finish the glass.

A disappointment. Very tannic and flat. Leaves a sandy feeling on the tongue. Drank with Patrick who agreed. We opened a. Biston Brillette instead.
