Drank a 375 mL. Aging well. Has a few miles left, but the present dark fruit is giving way to tobacco and leather. The tannins are fading and we’ll integrated

Double decanted for 3 hrs, deep ruby with slightly brick rim, red & black fruit, med. tannins, long finish; outstanding, WOTN against good competition, drink or hold, no rush

Wow! Deep ruby color. A bit of a musty, Bordeaux like nose which blows off after 45 minutes. Initial impressions of bing cherry and rich, dark, chocolate. Secondary influences of raspberry, plum, eucalyptus, vanilla and mint. This was full bodied with a long, lingering finish. Still retains a tannic backbone. This was absolutely delicious, albeit a bit brighter, sweeter and less Bordeaux like than other vintages tried. Exceptional with a dinner of grilled tenderloin and baked potato.

Cherry, red currant, blueberry, leathery, dusty earth, light tobacco accents. The oak is almost fully integrated, the tannin is smooth but substantial. This has opened up quite a bit since the last bottle a couple years ago. The finish is showing a minty/eucalyptus note that complements the ripe fruit. Probably a year or two from peak for me, but it is getting “mature” (getting past what the wife likes). This will get more earthy and tobacco notes over time.

Still very primary. Plum, cassis, later with air raspberry and cherry. A leathery undertone. Very ripe. Initially a little prune but it opens up. The tannin is not intrusive but I would wait for some secondary development. Drink 2020-2030. Reminds me of Brunello's from a hot year.

Ruby red, medium-full bodied, full forward bright vibrant red and black berry fruit flavors showing a layer of acid on the front before turning to tones of cedar, mineral and dusty earthy leather. I sense this begs for more time to settle and develop a bit more.
Crimson red, dense and opaque in color. Immediate and direct rich berry, cassis and fresh picked fruit on the nose, mellowing out with air to reveal well defined secondary notes under brush, stones, dusty earth and evergreen. The palate carried along the some vein, with well defined berry and cassis upfront leading to clay, wet earth and evergreen notes. 3 hours in and the evolution continued with mineral, stones and gravel. Excellent length and complexity, long and smooth finish. Wish I had more. Will benefit from age but also drinking well today.

Drank over the course of 2 days. Day 1 had with NY strip. Excellent pairing for a potent, intense, tannic wine. Deep blue and black fruits with cedar, oak, and a nice hint of vanilla. Day 2 the oak falls to the background and everything comes together nicely. This could stand 5 years in the cellar.

Took some time to open up. Very different than i remember at Christmas last year (which was the best bottle i had all year and still sticks out in my memory), this bottle showed more age. As a result, the fruit a bit more red, and it did not have the chocolate & vanilla tones. Based only on this bottle, i would say at this point its time to hold these, because they are moving out of their youthful fruit faze and have a lot more to gain in complexity with additional bottle age. If i could do this bottle over i would have either had last year, or waited until 2017+

Super Napa Cab, deep ruby, long legs. Incredible smooth with tannins and acid well integrated into berry fruit. Don't understand anyone rating this under 95.

BM: wonderful CA cab. Super smooth, and very ripe but not too sugary. Deep fruit, love it. One of the better wines i have had all year. 95+
Others: Katie scored 98, Colleen scored 92, Sami scored 95. Katie says, full bodied, creamy, and flavors of pomegranate and olive oil. Colleen get chocolate, I agree.

Great nose, smooth and silky power napa cab. Last rating of 85 I saw is ridiculous for a wine of this quality. I'd take RRT over any of the other Napa cult cabs.

Went head to head with a '08 Rubicon and a '97 Abreu and was considered the best of the night. Very deep purple in color.

2009 California Barrel Tasting (Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Washington DC): I've never been a huge fan of the RRT. Compared to the other two barrel samples we found this a little thin with a slightly harsh aftertaste.
