- It's balanced with a medium/full body. Narrow texture with a medium finish - Drinking quite well. Rich and very round. Wood has integrated nicely. Dark and sweet red fruits, hints of smoky chocolate, very rounded. Drink in the next few years

Robert Young has some of the oldest vineyards in the valley, and their grapes contribute to some of the bigger names in Napa wine. So, not a big surprise that this is a very enjoyable bottle with a lot of depth and complexity. Big cherry and vanilla with a touch of sweetness.

Popped and decanted. Began drinking immediately though, and it really was fine right out of the bottle, though 20 minutes of air smootherd it out a bit. Great fruit attack up front with red fruits predominant, with a medium finish with a hint of white pepper perhaps. Wish I had more bottles of this.

Popped and tasted. Initially, this was a big merlot with the finish a bit bitter. We threw the rest of it in a decanter and after about 45 minutes, this became a stunning merlot. The nose and the palate were quite similar, with cherry pie and vanilla predominant. The finish was excellent as it kept going and going. Everything I have had from Robert Young is great and this is no exception.
