Absolutely delicious wine. Powerhouse of dark fruit leather and mushrooms but does not come across as heavy at all. Great counterbalance of silky tannins and acidity.

Coal and gravel mixed with some dark plum. Layers and layers of tastes that linger well after wine has been swallowed down. Delicious. Well integrated and so tasty felt like I could almost chew it.

Dense dark red. Very expressive nose with a mix of white pepper and something far more lifted and floral. Dense on the attack with a good thwack of tannin amongst the dark red fruit. Robust. ***1/2
Tasted via coravin. Dark ripe fruit, almost brambly? Retains a good amount of freshness amidst a creamy woodland palate and finish. It really coats the mouth - lovely stuff.

Beau vin bien balancé, fruits noirs, boisé bien senti mais bien dosé, tannins souples, chaleureux, concentré, mais tout en finesse. Un peu moins expressif et ouvert que le 2006 cependant.

Popped and poured. Color purplish crimson. Nose kinda tight as is palate. Decanted through vinturi. Nose more open with cherry and plums and some dusty minerality and hints of vanilla. Maybe a whiff of bandaid. On palate this is dense with medium weight fruit and medium finish. Tannins assert themselves on the finish and turn a little stemmy at end. Matched with venison tenderloin was amazing. Good alone after dinner too. Definitely some years ahead.

Dark purple color. Spice and slightly burned Fruits. Though intense, a lovely lightness to it. Has a decent length, and well balanced. A really good Wine.

There’s so much coal, gravel and other natural resource action on the nose that if Kevin Rudd happened to garner a whiff of this wine he’d immediately slap a 40% mining super tax on it. There’s some delightful blood plum fruit that’s infused with flora also. In the mouth it has good power yet its not overblown and it possesses an enticing creamy almost lacy texture. It finishes with good minerally precision. Back off K.Rudd, you already get 5% Import Duty, 29% wine equalisation tax and 10% GST on top of all that.

Dark purple color. Weird nose -- the dominant aroma I got was of pickles, but there's also some sour cherry fruit, maybe plum, and some sour herbal scents. The fruit comes through more on the palate, as well as some spice flavors, along with plenty of acid and some strong velvety tannins. Medium fruit finish. Could have used decanting, or maybe some more age? This was more interesting than enjoyable.

Perfumed nose reminiscent of a burgundian Pinot. Earthy , dark spicy flowers and black berries fruits. Firm yet soft. Nice.

Nice rustic Spainish wine with good depth. Will likely improve some with another year or two in the bottle.

The Wines of Alvaro Palacios, with Alvaro Palacios (The Sampler, London): Again another uber strong wine, over powering and dense. Rose, floral elements and honey on the nose. Organic and biodynamic wine and "village" style wine with blends from a lot of vineyards int he area.
