Restrained nose with dried fruit and raisin notes. Palate expresses stewed peach and apricot and golden raisin. Balance is slightly sweet with moderately aggressive acid. Alcohol balance is a bit warm but, combined with dried fruit characters, lends richness in the finish.

Wine Blogger's Conference 2010 - Opening Tasting (Wine Blogger's Conference, Walla Walla, Washington): The nose is on the richer side, containing scents of sweet pears and some oranges in contrast to the brighter citrus seen in a lot of Riesling. The acid in the wine is interesting and on the lighter side with a bit of zip early on. The texture gets a little heavier as some green apple flavors show on the mid palate along with a sugary note. The sweetness isn't overwhelming though, and the apple flavors are good, if simple.

This is a great Riesling for the price, decently balanced overall with nice fruit, lightly sweet and with a clean finish that leaves just traces of the sweetness behind.

Serious Riesling here! Powerful aromas of wet slate and gravel combine with fresh white grape and soft floral notes, while on the palate the fruit and minerality are in perfect harmony until the finish where the stone essence comes to the fore and echoes for minutes. Medium dry with lovely, caressingly silky texture, this screams out for grilled weisswurst slathered with Dijon mustard.

Simple, straightforward, fruity rendition of the varietal. Lots of apple and pears. Balanced acidity, but not much depth. Food-friendly and good for the price.

Not bad for a $10 domestic Reisling. Enjoyable sappy fruit, good body. Seems off dry on entry but finishes very dry with palate-cleaning, refreshing, slightly dusty acidity. Doesn't have the "juiciness" of a German Riesling, perhaps more Alsace in style -- but lacks minerality. Simple and enjoyable.

We both liked this. Stacy still prefers the 2009 Beringer White Zinfandel.
