Colour shows significant browning. Nose of red cherry, nutmeg powder, rhubarb, and kindling. Slightly stale, but deep. Palate shows powerful, Shiraz-like fruit flavours (red cherry, raspberry, rhubarb), but also a stale touch of oxidation. Good structure, with fine-grained tannin and strong acidity (bitter, but not totally unpleasant). One of the more interesting wines we tried tonight.

Dark central otago nose, with brandy christmas cake, cranberry and earthy notes. Blackberry character, slightly higher alcohol with a full mouthfeel showing clay soils. Stunningly silky and concentrated.

Just gorgeous with it's freshness of color and aromatics pushing bright yet lush blueberry, cherry fruit and black pepper forward hinting at a bit of earth. The acid here is bright yet balanced. The finish lingers quite a while. Reminds me of Willamette's Domaine Serene style of PN. More bold with depth yet possesses finesse.

Nice red purple color. Although not a finesse type, it is ripe with refreshing black fruit, rich but well supported by acidity and tannin. Finishing is adequate though fall below anticipation.

deep medium full colour, sweet ripe dark cherries on the nose, an under current of acid drops, a full and savoury mouthfull muddled with dark fruits, medium-long length, little noticeable tannin, possibly a little on the sweet side, but only marginally, very good

Brought to a party. Wonderful nose, full of fruit. Quite serious and austere in the mouth - did I not breath enough?

Central Otago Pinot Noir Expo (Prince Wine Store - Bank Street): With a superb savoury nose of fruits and oak, this is a deep ark and serious Pinot. A rich, opulent, big mouthfeel with silky tannins.
